Im doing a rebuild and have removed the huge unsightly A/C box that mounts to the fire wall, but i noticed that the blower motor mounts to the box. If i remove the A/C box will i be loosing heat and heater functionality to the cabin? since it leaves a huge hole in the firewall with the A/C components exposed i was thinking of getting a piece of metal to put over it. this is on a 67 lesabre

to keep a functioning heater you will need something there to box the holes in. Aftermarket AC delete boxes are available. I personally took a cue from others on this sie and modified my AC box. You cut the box flat and fiberglass it to turn it into one of the AC delete boxes. Works fine.
do you have any pics? i took off the box and planned on placing a metal sealed plate over the old A/C components behind the firewall. thanks for the link
it looks like the blower motor blows towards the firewall on the passenger side. If i were to cover the remaining opening with (tape for the sake of example will probably use metal) would that work just as good and direct the flow of air as usual?
here are the images. the A/C leave the huge hole in the firewall. I want to just cover it it with a piece of metal. the blower motor housing (pictured) has an outlet to the A/C unit but now it will exposed to nothing. can i make a small covering for it and i should still have a functional heater and blower?
Here is a link to Ken's a/c delete I did the exact same thing and it functioned well... http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=170577&highlight=a/c+delete+box
Sorry I missed your other questions about the link. Thanks Bignasty for posting a link to my thread. (heck it might have been you I got the idea from in the 1st place.....) To have functional blower/heater, you must have air duct on the engine side of the firewall from the blower motor to the "big" hole in the firewall. Simply blocking things off with sheetmetal will do just that. Block them off. No airflow.
there is an air duct directly in front of the blower motor. Left arrow in the image, that isnt sufficient for the heater? i believe the heater core is directly in to the side of this left most opening.
blower motor. How can i swap the fan blades to a new motor. my hot wire is busted and there isnt enough to solder on.
