I am wondering if I should replace my vinyl top or shoul I just strip and paint? If I should replace where can I get a new top at and how do I install it? Thanks for the help.

V tops installed are cheaper than painting.. ask around at some local body shops.. they usually have a "out of house source" come do the installs.

Thanks. I am in SoCal, land of cheap upholstery. Just hope it's not velvet :)

I plan to replace my vinyl top with paint. They are notorious for causing rust under them. Not as much problems for you Cal guys. Just be careful some fools damage your stainless gutters when taking off and installing. This happend to me. I was not happy. And they were suppose to be pros.

Also check around Year One and maybe OPG sell original grain type vinyl tops but only in black and white. MAybe a little tougher to find four door top.

I know someone here in L.A. who just had a vinyl top done for 220$ including everything.. Cheap/expensive ??? Sounds cheap I think.

I agree with copperhead, vynyl tops were one of the dumbest ideas they came up with in the automotive industry.Convertibles look terrible with the tops up and they gave us that look permantly with the vynyl tops.

They had the rust under them issue also and just another pointless maintenance issue you do not need, they will dry and crack from the sun,its hard enough to keep vynyl in good shape in the inside even when its not exposed to the elements so you can figure my advice to you..........
