Has anybody tried Waldron's Exhaust or Classic Exhaust for a 71-2 GS N-25 system ? They both claim to be able to build a guaranteed to fit system. Inline Tube now has Buick exhaust systems, but don't offer the N-25 tailpipes. I don't know if I can swing the cash for the Gardner system, but they have some nice stuff the way everybody talks.
Tim I was in the same boat, so I just saved a little longer and got the best fitting and sounding (stock) Gardner Exhaust. I know that you have the N25 bumper, but I purchased Gardner's performace exhaust which came with the turbo mufflers and 2-1/2" head pipes and 2-1/4" tail pipes. George
I've used Waldron's for my WIldcats and have had great results. Good question about the N-25 option though. Hopefully they have done a couple before.
Ive talked to several people who've bought Gardner exhaust and all said it was the best fitting system and easiest to install.
I have Gardner exhaust on my 69 442. Expensive, but came extremely well-packed, perfect fit and look except for the mufflers which are shorter than original. Came with all the hardware needed, even correct TR bolts at the manifolds! Installed it w/o a lift myself, no probs, I would recommend them.
Tim, Sell some more parts and go Gardner. What have you got? I just got my second system from them and they are second to none.
Sometimes they have a long waiting list so you can call them asn d see how long out you will be. They will not charge you until they are ready to ship. Nice guys to deal with.
I appreciate the advice. I know they won't build anything other than 2" for the N-25 tailpipes. Did you get the concours package or standard ? It's an extra $150, so I was trying to justify the extra cost if I go with theirs. How about mufflers ? They have standard and turbo that look the same.
For the GSX I went with performance. I got the concourse also. It comes with correct clamps and bolts etc. The mufflers look stock.
What do you loose with a standard exhaust, power wise? The Stage exhaust is a 2.25 with a 2.25. tail. How would that compare with a mandral bent 2.5 system? Now add and X-pipe? This on a stock appering 455 with exahust manifolds? I'm trying to decide which way to go. Also, anyone get the exhaust from the Parts Place? (It's $299.00 plus hangers and shipping)
I was looking at that also, and thought it was a pretty fair price. I got a quote from Classic Exhaust for $350 shipped. That's w/o the clamps and hangers, for an aluminized 15 gauge, stock size 2-1/4" headpipes and 2" tailpipes. Also I checked with Waldrons, as they will make 1/4" oversize pipes. But in stock size, they were $420 plus shipping w/o clamps and hangers.
Yip same look just a little more nasty. perfect. I'll be ordering my 4th and 5th sets soon. PS Dave time for a Sig update! DL
Get the Gardner exhaust. I installed it on my 68 GS400 and it was perfect. I second all the positives about Gardner. Absolutely first class in quality, fit and packing. Great company and worth every penny you spend. The glass is great too! Randy[ QUOTE=StratoBlue72;1995503]Has anybody tried Waldron's Exhaust or Classic Exhaust for a 71-2 GS N-25 system ? Tim, let us know how it goes. I think the Gardner is excellent but many people don''t need or want a perfectly correct system. The last 5% of correctness usually costs 100% more and most people don't know the difference anyway. I will say I have been very happy with my Gardner system on my convertible. http://www.members.shaw.ca/timcr/gardner
Anyone try this one? http://www.ramairrestoration.com/ca...d=165&osCsid=439663b4bf0f6a0c8ad0fa9ad5330845
