E'nuff said - for you newbies out there this is the stuff you need. Every now and then you run across something that does what it says and makes you smile when you use it. Evapo-Rust is one of those products. My 3 gal can is over 10 years old, used many times, and it works and works until it doesn't. It does not hurt anything - plastic, etc. This was soaked overnight but I could have stopped after 15 minutes (75% of the rust was gone). It's not cheap, but good things usually aren't. The rust is gone - not converted! You do need to rinse it off with water. I towel dry and carefully use a hand held torch to dry it completely. https://www.evaporust.com/evapo-rust-rust-remover and after I flipped it over and soaked it overnight the right side looked like the left.
Not to take anything away from Evaporust, but white vinegar does the same thing for about 2 bucks a gallon. Takes a little longer, but just as effective....
Great info guys. I didn't know about either one. Just so happens I have some seat tracks that need the same attention. Problem solved.. Thanks!
