What is the correct color for the red stripes on the rocker panel molding on the GS cars? I would assume that the red in the GS emblems are the same color of red??

X2, trying to paint them would be an exorcise in frustration.

Since I don't have a GS or a Custom...using pinstripe tape, I made the top stripe
RED and the bottom stripe BLACK. Covered both models..looks pretty cool.

If you still want to paint them, use Testors Spray enamel # 1203 Gloss Red. Available @ Micheals Stores, comes in 3 oz cans.

Just had my rockers sanded and polished after 44 years. I'm sure they were never removed judging from the rusty screws on the underside.
Came out to a mirror-like/chrome shine. Way cool.

Taped off everything but the 2 stripe lines. Used a primer white, then used Rustoleum red paint.
Actually matches the redline tires (accidental bonus).
I kinda cheated since mine is a lowly skylark, but the RED stripes look so much better than the prior black.

Yes, a little time consuming, but a fun, fulfilling little weekend project.
To touch up, just spray into a little cup creating a little pool of paint, and brush by hand.
    They look stellar!
