Will the TA 1412-350 roller lifters be ok with my roller cam?
They were quiet on first start-up, and the 6 miles I put on the cam before I had to pull the engine for my bearing issue.
Being my engine is apart, I guess now would be a good time to switch lifters if need beo_O

For anyone going with the Johnson lifters, it is important to know that the pushrod cup of that lifter is .230" deeper than the Morel lifter. That necessitates a longer pushrod. My problem was that I incorrectly assumed that my pushrods were 8.675" long as that was the length specified in my Motor 1 build thread. As some of you know, that motor had a block weakness that showed up after the 30 or so Dyno pulls that motor had. Jim built me a second motor with a much better block, and a different cam. Needless to say, pushrod length was different. I ordered (8.675 + .230 = 8.905) 8.900" pushrods. When I finished my valve adjustments, I realized that I had adjustor threads showing under the rocker arms. One full turn back of the adjustor put the adjustor flush with the bottom of the rocker. One full turn of the adjuster is approximately .050. My original pushrods were actually 8.725". I needed 8.950" pushrods, and that is what the math predicts. (8.725 + .230 = 8.955) Had I measured my original pushrods, or even looked closely at them (they were marked JPW PR-5 8725) I would have caught my mistake. Live and learn. 8.725pushrod.jpg

I have TA 1405 set of lifters. Am I in the clear?

We are talking about the hydraulic roller lifters. The TA 1405 lifters are flat tappet lifters. They should be fine.
