I can assure everyone here that if someone did that to MY car, they would find themselves with .40 caliber holes in their body. And people wonder why I am sooo protective of my property.
Would I kill someone and go to prison? No. But I absolutely would be nose to nose with whoever did this and would get what was owed to me to get my car back to the condition it was in before they damaged it. And if they couldn't or wouldn't, I would damage their car to the same extent that mine was damaged...childish I know....but it would make me feel better!
What happened to the old "don't touch if it's not yours"?? You would think classic car owners would know better.
I met the owner of the car (Joe) last year at MCaCN, super nice guy. Went to an "open house" at his shop, he has an incredible collection of cars, mostly Oldsmobiles.
I know, people say he is a really nice guy, too. Can you imagine if Duane brought his car to a GS thing and everybody sat on the hood to take a pic?
If it were mine, the a-holes, who did the damage would pay for it. Complete f-tards. Their names and faces should be posted all over the internet.
There would be something like "the last guy standing" going on..............and remember I am a short guy, and have no problem picking something up to even the match, or maybe put me to the positive. You do know that man is a tool making animal. I know life is too short to worry about things, but the problem with all of this is not about the MONEY involved, but the hopes and dreams, blood & sweat, etc that goes into the building, showing, and protection of these treasures. The saddest thing about all this is they were car people. I am also sick and tired of people using the excuses of "I was Drunk, or I was on Drugs, so I'm not responsible. The term is BULL$HIT. Did people so envy this car that they wanted to damage it? I got over my jealousies about things a long time ago. Right after I realized my last name was not "Rockefeller". If I was in charge of the Olds club, and it's a good thing I am not, the first thing I would do was to ban the members that did this. No discussion, no second chance, period. If you admit to doing it, or there is proof that you did it, you're gone. Duane
