There was quite a few old cars at these two yards I visited today, thought I'd share a couple of pics. This '75? was someone's big score, seeing how they took half the car with them.
Some more stuff waiting to be crushed and sent to China to become a sky scraper :error: You rarely ever see Camaros that are pre '74. There are plenty of old Cadillacs in the yards, makes me worry about how many that are left on the roads
I think they save up the old stuff, and if it isn't shipped to Sweden (usually marked on windshield), they set it out in one go.
I think these wagons are so cool, I don't think I've ever seen one on the road, just a few in the yards and on the internet. The Riv was picked pretty clean, but I can't figure out why they only took the door skins and not the whole doors???
That's all for today, usually you see one old Buick / month so it was pretty good, but there was nothing out there I wanted to bring home. I still need to clean out some stuff before I can put some new stuff in. I asked the guy who was responsible for selling the Electra if it was possible for him to contact me when/if it was put out for parts, there are some dash area bits and pieces I could use on the cat, so he took my number and said he would call, we'll see.
Kimson if you ever get back to that yard please let me know.... I could use a few, very small, easy to remove parts from the Estate Wagon :beer
Because there bolted on !! Just found that out yesterday ! funny it should be mentioned today:laugh: Gary / moz
Ha! Around here, we have to find a carpet or bench seat to lay on to stay out of the mud when we're pulling stuff. It's rediculous really.
Kimson Are you in Hollywood, CA, Hollywood, FL, or Hollywood somewhere else? I would really like those front fenders off that 70 RIVI if they are not rusted, especially down where they attach to the frame.
Hollywood CA. Measure the ones on your Riv and see if they will fit Greyhound's size limits, otherwise I'm not sure how those could be shipped at a reasonable cost?
Well, get back to that yard! The 75 full size was a conv and that is why someone chopped off the rear qtrs. 70 Riv -------- Get the heads, intake, carb, seat belts and fan shroud. Check for p.trunk. 73-74 Century/Regal models ---------------------------- Get tilt columns if they have them, get both transmission x-mbrs since those are in great demand. Also, check for p.trunks.
Greyhound weight and size allowances. Max weight at most locations 100#.Some locations will accept 150#. Max size is 30"Hx47"Wx82"L.Any oversize package 25-36" is 2.00 37-48" is4.00 and 67-82" is 12.00.I'am taking this rite off Greyhound's package guide and their oversize charges don't make any sense to me.
Hi George, The 70 Riv is pretty gutted, the engine/trans isn't there, and the spindles were cut off with a torch, no posi. Why do people need transmission x-members, I've never heard of one of those go bad on a car? I still need to clean out more stuff out of the garage before I can add some new items, even if they're for sale. Thanks again for sending me that a/c delete box a few years back, it finally went in the Centurion a year or two later, and then it was lost in the fire. I was really happy when I received it, it was an important piece of my plans for the "C" :beers2: .
