Seems like I read somewhere not to paint headliner bows?

is that the word? i think because it interferes with sliding them into the listing pockets.

I am about to clean mine up and redo my headliner. Thanks

Without good dry paint I have seen them rust and stain the pocket.

Yes, that's the potential problem if you don't paint them Ed, particularly with white, tan...most any color other than black.

Thanks for the warning. It is a white headliner! I will clean and paint for sure .

Yeah, I've had the rust on them eat through the fabric holding them up so they fall in your face. I painted mine with chassis saver and the headliner slips on the rod just fine.

Wire wheel clean and prime with ZINC primer, then paint with gloss anything. Theyll slide in much easier. ws

They were originally bare steel. I would spray them with boeshield, let them dry, and wipe off the excess. Should protect them.

Be careful painting anywhere you will glue it. Ive seen the glue breakdown the paint and bleed the color through the fabric before. That would be my only concern.

Ed, are you posting any pics of your progress? You are so far away .... you are to be commended for all your effort and work to preserve your Buick(s) and other cars.
