This one is for guys in the Milwaukee area. I'm heading back home for the summer and will need some work done on my car, some suspension bushings need to be pressed in, a little sandblasting, etc. Does anyone know of a reputable shop in the area. Also I'm on a college budget, so if anyone wants to lend some informative hands, I'll be more than willing to travel around SE Wi to learn all I can. :Smarty: Thanks.
Robert , I live 10 miles east of Lake Geneva . A good friend of mine owns a Soda Blasting shop in Silver lake . Call> (262) 889- 9929 Ask for Al . Any other #'s you need ? Let me know ! :TU:
eehh.... hmm... dude we gotta meet up... i too am on the college budget... anyways.. I dont know too many around here. since I do most work myself... though I'm about to take the road your taking (new front bushings etc) I do have one of those sandblast from a bucket kits back home in northern IL 1 hr from milwaukee. it actually worked really well on my intake manifold. (also helps that dad bought a 5 hp 60 gal compressor that can sustain 90psi at 12cfm :Brow: ) we're welcome to it for a weekend or so. I could find out if my neighbor in IL can do it but the car would need to be left in milwaukee. he owns a shop repairs and sells volvos, saabs, and vw's he can also media blast (plastic shot to remove paint WOAH!!! didnt think of him tearing my car down when it comes time to paint!! and his stuff dosen't change the look of the steel at all. all the places around milwakuee are pretty pricey for their work which is unfortunate. I could call the speed shop back in IL too. a friend was quoted over 1200 bucks to change a head gasket in a late 80's early 90's buick century 4 cylinder mind you. shop back in madison charged her 400 bucks (if i wasnt so busy i woulda done it but... yea it sux) nate
Thanks for the info Hey guys, thanks for the information, I now just have to get my cars back in town. The center link and ball joints have made my main car un drivable so I have to find a trailer or get it hauled back from Platteville, king of a bummer, but I found a cheap beater for a daily driver. I figure it'll be a few weeks before all is ready for any work. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated. Bob
not a college budget bennet coachworks does nice custom work, look them up. Your bushing job wont be that much for them since they build rail roadsters from the ground to the roof, and if you get polyurethane bushings, you wont have to worry about your suspension for another 20 years. Thats Money well spent.
