I did this for a friend earlier this year and thought you guys would like to see

It started life as a 71 Gsx in black and gold.
The goal was to match a 1:1

I used paint stripper to clean the body

And painted under the hood and engine area semi gloss black

The interior took some work. 4 different shades of bags to closely match the real car
    And white for the exterior

I used a Molotow chrome pen for the trim

Nicely done! To a lesser degree, I did something similar. Stripped a 1:64 70 gsx and painted it 72 Hunter green and added a "vinyl top" (black plastidip) to match a car for a wedding cake topper. Fun little project.
