It seems as soon as a Ford gets close to the 11's everyone thinks the world is coming to an end . :3gears:
she really wants a 68, 69 or 70 Charger but it's looking like a Pontiac. However, we'll see what happens.
What killed this sight is one sidedness! Simple research will indeed prove a lot of people wrong in here but a certain person doesnt like that. Thats why I contacted Fred Catlin him self and will be visiting him to get the truth not someone that thinks to much. I rather have true hard facts not some dyno run.
Sigh. I had some spare time at a remote training for my work - thought I would check the site. Some days I forget I have the cars I have - I don't store them at home. As of today I have TWO adult family members in the hospital - my mom-in-law with pneumonia and my wife with asthmatic bronchitis. Fun, huh. At least they are in the same hospital. Even I was in the hospital last month due to an infection. 2 days, 8 hours - my portion of the bill, since it was the start of the year and had spent nothing towards my deductible: Over $3K. I was spending about $70/hr in the hospital - but the care was good. I didn't race last year due to my wife's health issues - it was she that had pneumonia then. I drove my GP to a couple of local cruise-ins, to a 2-day Pontiac show (back and forth from home - drove 160 miles that weekend) and my 30th HS reunion. I do think about you guys quite a bit. Stay healthy! The image I keep in my mind - about the 4th up from making a pass, and seeing the cars run from the point of view behind them. The high-pitched screech of the bias-plys, the tire smoke from the burnouts. Front ends high, the slight exhaust puff from a quick shift, the Doppler-effect of the sound as the cars race off into the distance. Heaven on Earth to me! I bring the 68 H/O back out this year. I hope to be back but cannot plan it yet.
Joe, I wish you and your family the best. Sorry to hear of all the sick family members. Good luck and hope the year gets better. See you in the Burnout box.
I've been thrashing under my car rebuilding the rear end. Anyone considering Musclepalooza in NY Memorial weekend? I'm trying to get things back together for test and tune at Milan April 13th. Already made hotel reservations for Martin (Courtyard Kalamazoo Portage).
I plan on making the spring Musclepalooza. Yes, racing and I will haul out presold tires. I do not believe I will make Martin this year.
Ebb and flow of popularity between stock and resto-mod? Seems like it cycles back and forth and for a while stock was so ever popular but I've been seeing a lot more resto-mod stuff lately. Me, I'm somewhere in between. I appreciate and love stock and the resto-mod stuff equal. It takes a lot of time, money and work to keep up with these things (as I am learning).
Better half just informed me that we have "other plans"! We are in negotiations and will keep you posted!
The question is..... participate in "other plans" and sleep in bed, or go racing and sleep on the couch? mmmmmmm........that's a tough one.
I don't know what your other half likes, but there is quite a bit that may keep her interest in the general area. City, country, antiques, spas, horse track, hiking, boating, auto museums, concert venues, etc., etc. AND the biggest crowds you're going to see at a FAST/Factory Stock race anywhere!
I'll get some banter going ... So how many people will admit that they are making changes to their cars and not just using the excuse that they ... And I quote... "Found something wrong" Making it "stocker" and "stocker"....
