From that era Olds/Buick/Pontiac/Chevy are all different motors. No real interchangeability in parts.

I say stick to the Buick motors. Maybe you wait a bit to find one, but you will find one.

There is a 455 in LA/Inland Empire on Craigslist

Man that means there are other buyers out there COMBING for these. I may be wrong but I thought Buick engines were the black sheep of the GM v8s. Tell these people to go buy a chevy so we can get our hands on them! :D

I found a 1969 430 on Ebay, are those any good? Anyone know if they are as "drop in" friendly as the 350 and 455?

The 430 is pretty much the same as a 455. It's just older.

The 430 guy said he would deliver for me. It’s rebuilt with a cam, edelbrock intake and carb. No exhaust. My mechanic is concerned the performance mods would be too much power for my brakes and it would only get like 5 mpg. That made me also concerned as this is my daily driver and anything under 10 is pushing it.

I do not have a garage. My mechanic has been with me for years, he knows his ****.

My v6 gets 15 on a bad day.

Too choppy of a cam can stop vacuum boosted brakes from working properly.

    Thanks for your help
