Not everyone's cup of tea, and honestly these weren't mine either, but I'm really beginning to like them. The back seat is so cool, and a cheap way to get a cool cruiser:

Friend of mine had a black on black 61 'bird. Back in the early 70s. There were 4 of us and in the band, and we did a lot of driving/crusing in that car "working it out". Loved that car and the times.

I had one of those back in the `70s, about the same color but with a black vinyl top and black leather interior, a fairly rare option back then. It had the 428 engine. They're heavy, like 4,600lbs but they ride nice.

I've always liked early to mid-'60s T-Birds, but after owning my '63 for almost two years, I have discovered that they are terrible to work on. It's as if the engineering staff hated auto mechanics. Just yesterday, after working on my Skylark, I told my wife that I shouldn't have been cheap and I should have bought a Riviera. :) I still like the T-Bird though, but its two best attributes are its looks and its ride. It does NOT drive well, but it's got a good ride.
