I had to clean & polish up my center console, as it was damaged by fluid leaking from moisture control bags during transit from US to Germany. While doing that I noticed the rectangular indentation at the rear side of the console. Was there somekind of a batch or sticker installed by the factory?

My '69 convertible had a courtesy lamp in that area.

‘68s do too-hardtop and convertible. I guess the housing design was modified to reduce cost?

Thank you guys for the replies. I will leave it then as it is, as it reflects the stock condition for a 1970 model (even though I like the idea of a courtesy lamp in that area).
Hi Brian, I did not even notice until you mentioned it. In Germany we do not do the am/pm thing and additionally I am 6hours ahead. Cool coincidence anyway!
While searching for a car the Olds have been on my list as well. I already had my hands on a 1971 SX, but pre-purchase-inspection saved me buying a piece of crap. You can not image how pictures can lie. Anyway Buick was my favorite, as I owned a '71 Skylark years ago, while living in US.

Don't wanna go into details, just so much: The seller provided me with a full blown appraisal (2 years old) on which base he purchased the car at the time the appraisal was written. I still do not think that the seller tried to rip me off. I just believe that people do have different standards and expectation in regards to craftsmanship. Something assessed as good from one person can be hell for another person. That is my 300$ lessons learned out of this :)
