well I did know I would piss a lot of people off.if nothing else I have correct gaskets as they came from factory.all measurments our correct.buy them and do what you want with them
copeddler68 Why would your selling the "correct" mirror gaskets for the 70-72 GS sport mirrors piss anyone off. I have not had them available for some time now, so the introduction of a new "repro" part should be a blessing for the guys here. If anyone is questioning the "correctness" of your part..............if you send me one, I would be willing to match one of your gaskets against an original that I have here. That should end all the discussion, and I will gladly state the info on this board, and send your repro back to you. I don't think anyone here is pissed about your product, I think it's more about the statement that the Camaro mirrors are the same as the 70-72 GS sport mirrors. Duane

Copeddler68 did you indicate your were selling your mirror gaskets on EBAY? I tried looking there but didn't notice your ad; maybe not searching right but I pulled a bunch of other mirror gaskets up on line. Thanks for sharing this info; I'm in the process of adapting used mirrors and your gaskets could certainly be of use if they are correct for my 71 skylark. I'm not a purist but would appreciate mirror gaskets that help compensate for the varioius mirror base variances mentioned and level the top of the mirror. John
I asked this in one of the other mirror gasket threads and got no response so I'll try again here. Does anyone reproduce the gaskets for the larger, chrome remote drivers mirror that was available for '70-'72 Skylark/GS cars? I'd be interested and I'm sure others here would be, too.
The chrome mirror bases don't have a teardrop shape like the sport mirrors, they are more rectangular. I don't think these will fit the chrome mirrors.
I think it's great that your doing this, hats off to you!! And thanks to Duane for his part in helping on making sure for correctness instead of getting mad that someone is doing what he used to make. A real standup attitude! Thanks to both of you. :TU:
I have a box of miscellaneous gaskets still but sold a lot of them off a few years back on here. Give me the part number and I will look to see if I might have what you need...Please PM it as well to makes sure I see it.
You might try GSFRED here on the board. I got a set of the gaskets for the chrome mirrors from him a while back. They were used but in VGC.
I also bought a set of the Sport Mirror gaskets on Ebay from Coppedler....just in case I change my mind and want to change some time.
I need a gasket for my remote mirror on my 65 skylark gs. anyone got one, or where I can get one Thanks Ed
I used these and they fit fine with the correct 70 Sport mirrors: https://www.opgi.com/skylark/G241237/
the opgi gaskets our wrong they our Camaro gasket.$7.00 each plus shipping.parts place Camaro gaskets $4.00 each free shipping.these our same gaskets except parts place have rh.9832126.lh 983217 which is correct for Camaro because there is a slight difference between the two. skylark never used a lip around outer edge.skylark mirror gaskets our flat no lip.and the wedge is very high that makes the difference.i saw on this sight all you have to do is mount gasket with higher side toward window glass.it does not work and I was dumb enough to sell a few sets like this.i have a correct skylark gasket and took measurments from it.and the ones I have now our very close to original.its impossible to install a Camaro gasket on a skylark and have them fit.also if your our showing your car at a show they will take points off because of lip on gasket.iam sure there our people out there that will not agree.again I have an original gasket.its not rocket science and iam doing my best to make a produce that will work.thank you Richard.
Richard is correct in everything he says. Camaro gaskets will lean the mirror in towards the door a bit. VERY noticeable when compared to correct gaskets side by side.
