Neat I hear we may even be able to squeeze in a couple off-brand musclecar pairing's between round's
:eek2: :eek2: You mean we can race, too, or will they shut down the staging lanes prior to the main event "Hemi vs Stage 1" so everybody has time to watch with undivided attention.....like they do with the Jet cars at big time drag meets? Cool! ou: How about a high school band marching out front? I think Casey has the uniform for drum major.
Instead of all of this Stage 1/Hemi sillyness .... I suggest that we do a BIG CAR Shootout. 409/425 4spd Chevrolet BelAir - Charlie Lombardi 427/425 4spd Mercury Marauder - Brian Stefina 427/425 4spd Chevrolet Biscayne - Casey Marks Now all I need is a driver ..... OH JIMMY !!!!
My January issue of the Buick GS club newsletter mentions a race set up by Hot Rod Magzine between Dave Dudek's Road Runner and a Buick GS that is being put together. It's scheduled for June at Cordova in Illinois. Anybody got more info on this and is it confirmed ?
Don't forget Glasgo's gorgeous 421 64 Catalina, Ken Riebel's 66 Bonneville and 64 Super Sport, and the 2 Buick Convertibles....... You really could have a neat shootout of big cars.
Hello, Did I not mention the big car shootout in one of the post? Would be too kool for school! :beer
Speaking of big cars, when are we going to see a 300 'H' show up? Someone would have to have a Looong trailer for some of these cars!
But who will drive them? But the Impala is the Worst example of a Chevrolet.....with the heavy bucket seats, heavy console ... the Impala emblems alone must weight 30lbs a piece :ball: ......  Really though, all big car, big block......and 4-speed a must!
I have a set of Big Chevy rods 3/8" ARP bolts out of my 427......I'll give them to Paul if he will have it at this fall Stanton P/S. :beer
I accept and promise as long as the money holds out I will be there. I have obtained alot of what I need and got the call on Monday that i finally have a good standard block to pick up. Need the pistons and the head and carb done and should be able to start assembly. We will have to talk Brian :Brow: I can definatly use those rods I was getting ready to talk to Maynard about a set. Thanks Paul
Would a '61 300 'G' long ram 413/375hp be close enough Rusty ? You may see one there this year .......... :bglasses: If that slug-of-an engine builder from Milan can get the motor done and dynoed in time ........
Git-R' done! The other car I would not mind seeing would be a Jetstar/Starfire Olds with a 425. I guess that may be why I turned to Olds in the first place. My Grandpa had a '64 Starfire with a 394. He said they outran a sandstorm in Arizona with it and he would lay waste to those little Mustangs in the stoplight drags! :blast:
