    Hey all...
Here it is...Needs to be cleaned up a bit, not going to go to crazy for a daily driver..
Snapped a pic while I was trying to sneek the heater box in .Valve cover getting in the way..Maybe I'll try pulling it off, if not I will have to wait till the motor goes in..The one in the pic is just in there now till it finds a home..

Still gathering all my parts..So far I have collected
    A body and G body th350 x members
    V6 motor mounts
    307 shroud and radiator
    v6 steering box and pump

This car was stripped bare as I was going to use the body for my GN originally..But it has sat so long and I decided to restore the original GN body.
So I am piecing it back together...Need to do a little patch on front driver floor, and throw a dash and wiring harness together for now.
Waiting for my TA rear main seal and Buick red paint , then I can drop the 350/350 in .
Not 100% but I am pretty sure I will do the stock manifold/TA down pipes and Jegs 2.5" header back for an exhaust..Just hope that the exhaust will play nice with the Buick pipe dimensions..
So I will try to do some clean up and small things in the meantime as I collect extra funds for the exhaust..Might not be till after the holidays...

Try to get another pic off once I have the bay cleaned up a bit and the engine/tranny sittin in there...

    Heater Box issues

I thought I read that it cleared. Now I am reading there are some that made it and some that didnt....I see ultimately I will be cutting a notch and doing some glass or bondo work..
I would hold out for a non ac box, but it seems they hit as well(according top what I have read so far)

The only thing I can think of so far , is that some of these guys had a Regal with a 307 heater box...As I think back, i could almost be certain that my 86 Regal Limited with 307 had a different shape A/C heater box...
There is a Cutlass with 307 in the local yard, maybe I will go check that out...
I wonder what the Chevy G bodys had? seems like maybe there could be a posibility of a few different shapes..

Hopefully I didnt screw up on the mounts...I am pretty sure The pads will only bolt in one way, and I stuck the mount marked "right" on the drivers side and the other I had wasnt marked but hopefully it is the left(pass)

    Re: Heater Box issues

Left and right are determined as if you were setting in the car not looking at the car while standing in front of it.

    Thanks monkeyy337
I posted in TB as well, figured it was a good place to ask about V6 mounts..I found this out last nite, just copied my other reply..
"I t looks like you are correct on this..Using autozone and rockauto to compare.. they each have the same part numbers but one uses left and right, the other uses pass/driver

anyway each part number comes out like this :
2384 Pass for AZ ,right for Rock
2382 Driver for AZ , left for Rock

So I will assume all manf that have made these mounts used the same orientation, making my mount marked "right " a passenger side mount..

Still unsure about the other , they look the same to me just cant read it, might have to just go pick one up to be sure..<!-- google_ad_section_end --> "<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Pick a parts visit for some TV/Kickdown brackets

Paid a visit to the local boneyard today..Found a Th350 bracket and cable for 3.8 off of a 79 Monte.. Also grabbed the engine harness off of the fuse box side..Looked pretty simple compared to some of the other models..Should be easy and clean to use for the Buck 350 wire up.
While I was there I grabbed two other cable brackets from G bodys

A monte chev v6 tbi bracket
    and a Cutlass 307/2004r bracket

    Thats it for now..

Oh ya they had two heater only boxes but they wanted like in the $50 area..Not sure if that is worth it...
Edit: Ooops ..the 79 bulkhead/fuse box conector is not the same..at least I didnt spend to much on it.. Just have to repair the chopped up one I have..

I have put three 455 Buicks into Regals, 78, 81, & '87. 455 Olds into a '78 Cutlass and one in an '84. A 400 & 455 Pontiac into a '78 and '84 Gran Prixs and big and small block chevys into Malibus and Montes.

The only AC box issue I have ever had is with my non-a/c box on my '78 El Camino with a 454, the stock, short, valve cover touches. It clears on big valve covers with the AC box, go figure?

The only other issue I found was long and short water pumps, so I have shiffted the motor/trans back to clear, or use and electric fan and F-body radiator set up.

Score some F-41 bars while your out at the bone yard, they help out a bunch.

I also did the 'Z' steering box, quick ratio like on GN's and Monte SS is on lots of Z28s and Impala cop cars.

Think I may have found some already, are these the ones that go from the frame horns to the center?
I have a GN steering box, not sure if I am going to use it or not yet, or save it for the A body.
Now that I know the proper orientation for the mounts, I definately have them on backwards..I am hoping this changes things enough for the AC/heater box
I made an assumption on that one.Ordered some sheetmetal from LMC for a buds truck, they determined L/R by facing the truck (i think)..Oh well, the motor I tried it on isnt staying in it anyway..

Now That I know I am using the factory 350 Y pipe I can stick with the factory 350 x member. Cold weather is going to hold me up a little.

So far I have got a dash harness and dash together, steering wheel painted to match(somewhat).. And picked up a decent $20 factory carpet ..just the wrong color LOL..
Well thats it for now, see what tomorow brings..Probably going to go well into Jan before I get this project off and running. Still putting little odds and ends together..

Another good box for A-bodies is the S-10 straight ratio power steering box. The one with the same aluminum top cover as the A-body! The stops and stuff are right on for A-body with 15's.

    Motor mount update

Well I finally have forced my but outside despite the cold weather..I managed to swap the L & R mounts to the correct sides..
I dont think it made much change..The 68 350 valve cover is hitting the BOP/turbo box just the same..The 70 valve covers look like they wil make contact even more so..
Oh well, not much to remove from the box..
Hoping to get the engine to a buds heated garage this weekend and get it painted up ..Got my factory Y pipe in, so exhaust shouldnt be a problem anymore..
Just need to get it done..Just concerened now more than ever about rigging the kickdown cable..
Found a decent bracket and grabbed a cable for a 350/3.8, just that darned low profile intake ...Not sure what I am going to do just yet..
I have seen the spacers used with the 4V ..Dont think there is much out there for spacers on a Rochester 2 jet...

Guess thats it for now...With thecold here now, I wont be able to paint in the engine bay like I wanted ..oh well

    Thats it for now
Thanks for all the help gang
