1107247 is for a 1964 and 1965 chevelle and malibu. Not sure what the 02 is, but the 4A31 would be 1964 January 31st.

That's strange maybe I took them down wrong as never had chevy cars in my family always buicks and tons of buick parts and I guess someone could of replaced it before I got the car but if it's not buick I can trade it in for a remanufactured thanks

    I text you earlier.

Me thinks the splash you made over the last 24 hours is just that - a splash.:rolleyes:

Can't be for "Chevrolet AND Pontiac"; they mount on opposite sides of the engine. Buick and Chevy on the right side; Olds and Pontiac on the left.

Just the main body's are used by re-builders. Noses are mostly interchangeable as well as end plates.

I'm well aware of the fact that the main bodies are generic; however, the part # that he referenced, as fitting Chevy and Pontiac, is for the complete starter assembly, including the nose. That was my point.

Brett, Maybe one of those pocket translators would work.

Yes I would like more specifics. I know the 1107247 is a low torque starter with series field winding using a housing with a long and a short mounting bolt to fit on the passenger side of the engine. What specific Pontiac model and engine is this starter used on? I would like to thank you in advance for the specific Pontiac model and engine this was made for?

OK, blew the dust off the old catalog and my memory and the specific is the 283 V8.

Thanks, I wasn't aware Pontiac used the 283. What model was it in?
