I have searched for a thread that defines the location of all the information stickers that came on our cars. I carefully photographed all mine before I began the restoration and stored them on my computer for safe keeping. Well my computer crashed and I can not access them. I do have someone trying to recover them as well as my spreadsheet documenting my restoration expenses. Where should I look to find the sticker and its location? Thanks Jim
That would be a good resource thread. I will say that I have seen some location variation in the trunk stickers over the years ('jack instructions' and 'positive traction axle' decals). Different years? Different plants?
No I have not been able to recover my pictures or spreadsheet of expenses on my car. Computers are handy until they eat your stuff and won't give it back. I am still trying but this is way above my ability. Jim
Over the years I have had two laptops die on me, one just expired and the other one suffered unexplained blunt force trauma when we shifted house, a friends brother got me a 'external hard drive '?? and removed the hard drive from the two old ones, i can slot them into the external drive and via a usb cable can access all my photos etc. easily.
with an external drive its not the question IF its going to fail or not the question is WHEN its going to fail store your pics and files also in the cloud great for backup and you can access them from any place in the world really personal stuff, you could store on a usb stick there are 2 TB units out there now no mechanical parts a gmail account comes with free storage space
...don't know whether OP's using a laptop, but in general laptops (still) using HDs are more prone to data-related failure. Think gyroscope effect, and airflow restrictions. No matter form factor, regularly back up externally. Plus, I like to regularly run drive-health software like CrystalDiskInfo to increase chances of detecting impending problems...
