Good test of a beat on true 455 stocker between exhaust manifolds and headers. The engine did pretty well for what it is. Too bad about the Q-Jet but I'm sure there would't be any noteworthy difference between it and a Holley(doesn't say what size, maybe 750?) at this power level. Pretty much shows that headers don't do much with no modifications and low compression but it does do something and will most certainly have a greater impact as the modifications are made in later videos, which he plans to do. I'm thinking they are using the dyno's water pump to move water through the engine? I like the throttle linkage plus this goes to show that whenever you have an engine out always clean the oil pan. In the second(produced earlier video) they get it ready to run. It shows a chromed alternator and upper bracket so I really think the valve covers were added or rechromed way back when and it probably is not an original Stage 1 especially when you see where the HP peaks at. They say this came from Freiberger and probably one of his Roadkill projects. I'm thinking a '74(because it is red, not blue)non-Stage 1. What engine codes would possibly be on a 455, Stage 1 or not, from '73 on up? They just put up a Nitrous video. Talks about how they timed it. Good stuff.
Jim you're missing the big thread about it. I beat him out of the hole by 21 minutes but SeBamBam got more traction for a better title I guess so that is where the discussion is at: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/richard-holdener-455-testing.360222/
