What I've done on problems bleeding...
Two people, one in car, one by bleeder.
Foot off brake, open bleeder, depress brake to floor, close bleeder, release pedal, repeat.

think that was covered. :) That is what I explain in the posi earlier little more detailed though... we do not want to agitate the fluid and air if in there....just squeeze it through with out sucking air.

Release brake pedal slowly. Some guys will short pump the brake pedal (bleeder still closed) before full slow downward pump (bleeder open)

I have a new master coming today. plan is tomorrow to replace the master, bleed the master, gravity bleed all four brakes, then see if I get any pedal which I am thinking I will???? then I will vacuum bleed just for good measure. I will update this weekend. Thanks so much for all the replies.

so just to update this thread, I was able to get the brakes bled out today, took the car for a ride. Brakes felt better than ever. I bench bled the new master and installed, then gravity bled all four whees before touching the brake pedal. I started with the right rear, again could not get the air out of the rears. seemed like I would get a bunch of bubbles, then some solid fluid, then a bunch of air. this kept going on so I decided to try and gravity bleed the left rear. I had no fluid there, I waited and waited, eventually hooked up my vacuum bleeder to get fluid. so now I went back to the right side, no fluid there, same deal. So what I finally figured out was that I was evacuating the fluid from whatever side of the rear axle that I was not bleeding, crazy right, I picture that as the oil was flowing from the rear brake hose and across the right brake line and out the bleeder, it was actually siphoning the oil from the left brake line????

Finally I got my son to slowly press the brake pedal with both rear bleeders opened, this forced oil thru both sides, once I got this far I was able to bleed all wheels properly. I wonder if this was my problem the entire time? Thanks again for all the advise.

Yah BUT gravity bleeding should have solved that...DIDN'T you open all lines to gravity bleed? I mean all at once? If you only open one at a time it will not gravity bleed correctly.... FRONT and Back can be done separate BUT you need to have both the left and right open at the same time to gravity bleed. If not it will cause a straw type vacuum when you hold your finger over it... fluid will not flow properly seeking the lowest pouint...the master cap also needs to be off too. That might have been the issue then.
    Man...

Well glad you got it on the road and going...well stopping...lol

@70skylark350 your pain was my gain. Without this post and all the great advice from the board, I would never have solved my rear brake bleeding issues. I was having similar issues. My buddy (a pro mechanic of 30 years) and I were ready to take a sledgehammer to those brakes this weekend... We just couldn't get the air out of the rears. He was convinced the master was the issue -- I was thinking it was the people not the part...Tonight I made a couple of deadman bleeding bottles (30" of 1/4 plastic hose and a gatorade bottle - glued to some wood to keep upright). Patiently bled the brakes by myself tapping on the lines to loosen up the bubbles. Solved! Thanks for sharing your issue and solving mine!
