Wow -that sucks. I've been away since before Christmas and was hoping to see a positive update.
I've had admiration for Pete and family since I first attended way back in 1996.
Prayers to the Simpson family (and JJ) and God's speed to Peter!

Although I am not part of the Pure Stock fraternity, I was saddened to hear of the loss of Peter Simpson. As a fellow Canadian and Ontarian, he made Pure Stock drag racing attainable and real to me because this amazing group of people and cars had a Canadian right in the thick of things (even right at the top of things). I will miss reading about him, I know his legacy shall live on for a VERY long time.

This morning I received in the mail the April 2013 edition of Musclecar Review. The "Last Page" article by Tom Shaw has a nice tribute to Peter.

    Peace.

Just watched the videos again. It brought a smile to my face because I knew that it was one of his happy places!

I just read the kind words that Tom Shaw has in the back of the April issue of Musclecar Review. Tough to capture all emotions on a page... Tom did well.

Sometimes I stop what I'm doing and recall something he said that made me bust a gut like............ One morning at a Martin,Mi race, I made a couple of passes and told him how frustrated I was by the lack of traction I was experiencing. He looks at his car and then looks me in the eyes with a straight face and says.."I'm not to worried about that...my car hooks on wet grass"

........and sometimes I miss his phone calls and have a good cry.

Tom Shaw's tribute was absolutely beautiful!

    Thanks Tom

    Very Nice,
    Thanks Bruno

I don't think we really miss Pete just yet, it's still like it's not real, or didn't really happen. I don't think it will really sink in until we get to the first event, look around, and notice he's not there.

I was thinking of him last month.. Wheat harvest was winding down and one of my first inclinations was to call Pete and talk farming.

Without a doubt, I miss my friend!

Looking forward to his tribute at the Supercar Reunion in a few weeks. Vicky and their boys, Eric and Owen, have been hard at work preparing his cars for show and go that weekend.
