Don't worry you won't be able to use it with a stock set up engine doesn't spin past 5200.

Wonder what the holdup is on it, I got the money right now!

    Behind door # 3 is...

The upper rpm is going to turn on Big time with this intake.

Won't be shifting at 5 grand with this monster.

My '68 stock 350's would spin to 6000+...not that you'd want to do that all the time though :eek2:

I did regularly shift it around 5100-5200 RPM--seemed to be the best shift point on the older stock (4 barrel) engines.

I'm excited for everyone else who has waited a long, loong time for this to finally happen. People whose engines were restricted by a dual plane setup is obviously what this intake is for, not stockers. It's not all about me. I can be happy for others. :beers2:

That's one sexy intake. TA comes through again. :TU:

You might want to call TA and leave a deposit because then you will be sure you will get one of the first run....

There is dyno testing happening on Dec 29th and then if the results are favorable they will go through with mass prduction... They have 5 prototype intakes completed now.

Yes Gary, this intake is really going to help the guys who want to run a street strip setup with a large cam... Right now the large cams are not much help without an intake to match....

Once the alum heads are out we will really see a huge increase in people building 350s!

Gary maybe you will share my view that when the new alum heads come out the TA dual plane intake with a small roller cam would work well for street engine in the idle-5000 range.

I not only share your view, but I'm one of the ones who was promoting the idea several months ago before this thread ever sprang up. :TU:

I have a prototype roller cam already devised for this very application.

Initial testing numbers point towards 352 HP @ 4900 RPM and 468 ft. lbs. @ 2700 RPM using a large CFM carb, high lift/low duration roller cam, headers, dual plane intake, and very good flowing heads.

I won't post the cam specs right away for my own reasons. Suffice it to say it has a very early IVC point, high dynamic stroke/CID, and only needs around 9:1 static compression to use with premium pump gas.

Gary, I am guessing you could get even more torque with 10.5:1?

You can get over 500 ft. lbs. with more intense cam specs, a stroker crank and higher compression, but it won't be very street friendly because the DCR would require racing fuel.

The 9:1 SCR puts it between 7.75 and 8:1 DCR already. With aluminum heads you could bump that up a bit more, but not much.

Remember the intake valve closing point is what determines the dynamic compression. The static compression is incidental.

With an early closing point, you increase the dynamic stroke which in turn increases the dynamic displacement (more stroke=more CID).

This is what builds monster torque.

You open the heads up and exhaust to flow it out, using a good flowing dual plane intake like the TA Stage1 intake, high lift to move the air and low duration will maximize the dynamic CID (more CID=more torque).

Using TA's fuel injection system on their dual plane intake would make this combination even better.

Just way too anxious for the intake and heads. Any news for the new year?

The only new is sad news unfortunately....

Ta setup chassis dyno testing for back to back runs on the new and old intakes. When the tests were started the engine lost power on each pull and ended up being hurt... So the testing could not be completed due to the hurt engine...

I believe the idea was to test the intake before it was mass produced that way it could be modified now if needed....

So I am not sure what the next update will be, i guess they need to fix the hurt engine before they move forward....

I will not speak for them, I just wanted to let you guys know about the sad news...

I am optimistic it will be an easily fixed issue and everything gets back on track....

Positive thoughts go out to the TA family from us Buick 350 fans.

I was hoping to hear positive news on this topic. My motor could benefit from the additional air that this intake could have provided.

Don't worry they will get it sorted out asap...

I am going to remind them about then old ta wagon engine that is still in the warehouse all complete as it was running when they swapped from the 350 to the 455... That was one hot 350 in the wagon!
