in the last year or so i had been out of the buick world cause there were no plans for any buick 350 parts. with this new announcement , i will certainly buy a 350 single plane and maybe heads. i finally have a intake for that 250hp NOS shot!!!!!!
The party is on... Interesting how many people are coming out of the woodwork today! We knew you were here all allong....
Hmmmmm, :idea2: I might just keep the 350 in the car instead of swapping in the 455. Time to start a savings account for the new parts. Thanks to Mike and the rest of the gang at TA for not forgeting the SBB. :beer
A BIG thank you to Mr. T!!!! Thanks for finally coming out of the closet with this. I know this has been in the works for some time now but other projects had to take precedence. I'm happy to see so many small block fans finally making themself known and wanting these parts. I also would like to thank Jim W. for keeping this board alive and well. Without V8Buick, we would be scattered all over the net and the vendors wouldn't be able to guage interest as they can with this site. :beers2: Here's to both of you!!!:beers2: Now, let's hope for at least the manifold before 2008 race season.....:Brow:
I have alot of 350's I'll sell you all...I'll keep with the BBB's myself..Can't be all bad. Rod H runs phenomenal times with his..Even Doug Hecker screams as well..Thats great news anyways...
:gp: :gp: :gp: :gp: This would make more sense if it was posted 4/1. I'm shocked and speechless. It would seem that pigs really will fly! Look out below!!!
straight from mike too ,:TU: thumbs up to him and TA time to start saving pennies. it will be fun to see more 350 engines with 400 or more hp it would seem porting my irons might not be worth the effort hope this works out
Not to mention Bill M. has already taken it over 1000hp!! in a build perhaps suited to drag strip only. with, at longest, weekly tear downs. definitely not suitable for daily driver or any other form of racing. speaking of which, hey Bill, any more word on an upcoming zine article or any further developments on that engine? you might want to bump the zine about the story and point them towards TA's new plans. that might give them some impetus to finally send it to print. time to kill some bbb? dude. we'll have plenty of mopars, fords and chevies to kill. no need to beat up on the other Rodney Dangerfields of the performance world. The 350 head will follow. once that's done is there any possibility of transposing the valves to the earlier engine configuration. i've noticed that you've started doing a bit of business in Rover/Buick 215 rebuilding, that could come in handy.
I called TA today and asked to put in an order for a SP-1 intake for the 350 and the guy said: "You meen the stage 1 for the 350" I said "No we've been waiting for a single plane intake for a few years now and Mike anounced it will be made" He said "I'll go check" came back and said "give me your info, we'll let you know when its close to ready" I gave him my info and said thanks. Am I excited or what!!!! THANKS TA!!!
Educate me fella's. What are the advantages of a single plane intake over the dual plane for our engines? I thought dual offers better pick up from 0-2500 rpm's. And don't these engines suffer good ole torque?
The SP intake will be better in top end. The reason these motors peak at hp at around 5500 rpm even with a big cam is because they are running out of air in the higher rpm. This intake will let us take advantage of ported heads and big cams.
Dang, I wasn't planning on a new intake for my future build. Thought I could use my TA stage 1 intake.
If your going mild on the build up then the stage 1 is just fine. It is us crazy guys who want to go to the extreme with all the goodies that need the single plane.
Tom, am I really under carbed, with the 650 edelbrock, I think it is a 650 and not a 600 ? I am using the c110 cam, 9:1 comp, TA intake, headers, 3:42 gears. Ordered Stall converter.
