I'll take a pair! I'll modify a 350 cam, fabricate an intake for my 215/Rover strokers, and use them anyway. The cam mod is easy enough for anyone. Maybe, someday down the road, they could do a manifold for the 215/Rover deck height, a pair of 3/8" spacers for the 300 deck height, and have -everyone- covered. Rick(wrench)
I'm no expert but I'm going to say, yes, you are under carbed. Should be running a 750cfm minimum with that combo. But what do I know?
been busy . good news . this a big committment from mike and we need to step up and support this buick vendor for sure . a rough time frame from him would help us with planning but i know it can be nothing carved in stone . thanks mike for any info you can supply . del
Thanks to Mike and TA for supporting the Buick community. A 350 didn't go in my current project do to lack of after market parts. It will be going in my next project.:TU: Bruce
This is very good news! Now once I get my 464 together and get kicked out of the track for going too fast. And after I get the T-Type in the 11's, I can make my GS fast. Thanks Mike! I'll be calling you guys in a week for some more 455 stuff.
:TU: You made my day Mike, I am all over the heads! Time to start saving for my new :birthday: to myself!:beers2:
Hmmm, so what's a realistic ETA on these new intakes?? BTW:beers2: to TA.. I may just not go BBB....:TU: :TU:
Maybe you could come with with some way for folks to directly support this project? Have some sort of group buy or sell special stickers, hats, Tshirts that money goes directly toward the SBB project? Could even once near close to production sell tickets to win one for free or even just for a place in line. Who gets first dibs on the first run.
I'd put down a deposit on an SP 350 intake. But I do not believe TA is in the habit of asking for money up front for their new projects.
In case we decide to build a super stock engine, that aluminum intake sure can come in handy!!! Thanks!!!!
That mid 11 was with NO HEAD PORTING! Amazing. With a set of ported heads and an alum single plane intake on one of your shortblocks would be killer. 10's easily....
What is the feasibility of T/A or Edelbrock making a 350 manifold like Edelbrock's Air Gap Dual-Plane Intake? I have one on my boat's Chevy motor and it is SWEET! I would be willing to slap down a deposit if I could have an intake like that plus heads.
I just realized that I haven't posted on this thread even though I saw it a few days after it was posted by Mike and I have posted about it over at the BPG site. Here's my 2 cents, thanks to Mike and all the staff at TA Performance for the continued commitment to these engines.I've been a loyal sbc nut for over 20 years but realized that, like others, that record has been playing for way too long.It took a lot of time and research on my part to dive into the Buick world and I will admit that the 455 was the catalyst for my change of brands.I'll still use a 455 in my '79 Limited and I will keep a couple of Chevy trucks(1 BBC and 1 SBC:bglasses: )but I'm convinced that the 350 Buick will be the perfect engine for a naturally aspirated light weight car(street or strip). This announcement is just icing on the cake,I can envision spanking some ChevyII(I own a '66) with a '61-'62 Skylark powered by a sbb 350 and the grin on my face while doing it.As a rule I don't like to fork money up front for services or goods but I'll be willing to give TA my credit card number for the purchase of an intake and a set of the heads for a charge at shipment of said parts,I think that will show good faith and if others do the same that would be a good gauge for initial production figures. If any of you agree with that I'll be willing to make the call and see how TA feels about it.As posted by Bill, this board is the perfect place to form some type of consensus about this sort of thing(thanks Jim W.).Speak up!!:beer
Sooooo.... When does the TA 350 replacement block come out....:bla: Seriously, how much HP can the 350 block take, and run reliably with a street / strip setup?
