Seriously, how much HP can the 350 block take, and run reliably with a street / strip setup?

well, the Buick v6 has been built to over 1000hp. and a 350 is a tall deck version of the 231v6 with two extra cylinders and an extra main bearing. so i'm thinking a Buick 350 will take anything you want to throw at it up until top end drag strip only use.

Oh yeah! This is great news! I always had a feeling that aluminum heads would sometime become a project, as the 350 crowd for Buick lovers have been waiting for them for quite some time. I'll definetly want a pair at sometime or another, as I am going to soon be looking for another project car, one that is hopefully much lighter in weight than the current car my 350 SBB sits in now. The body is junk on my current car and I am hoping to just scrap it out and find maybe a 75-76 Skylark or a Skyhawk even, or maybe an '62 Skylark, or just some lightweight vehicle, maybe even a Nova, to stuff the 350 in to, and hopefully will have a rebuilt, streetable, and healthy 1970 Buick 350 that will be able to obtain a good 350-400 plus Horsepower and torque, and be able to keep me satisfied on both the street and track. That is what I want, to be exact!:Smarty: :beers2: And aluminum heads and intake will definetly be of some use to me when the time comes!!!

It looks like everyone asks the same thing but still no answer. When will they be available?

This is ridiculous. What is the issue TA? You have said this stuff will be based off of the BBB blueprints, so it should not be an impossible task to develop these parts. It should more than obvious that these parts WILL sell. A single-plane intake is nice, but we need an intake based on the Edelbrock Air-Gap manifold for us street guys. While we're at it why don't we go ahead get a SBB 3X2 Air Gap manifold? It's about time we started feeding these motors gobbs and gobbs of cold air.:TU:

Contact John from the bgp forum. He has offered to build a dual 4 bb intake, for anyone who supplies a mopar intake. if you give me your info I will contact him directly.

A case of beer and some jb weld, then when you get it back find a welder to finnish it.

You have said this stuff will be based off of the BBB blueprints, so it should not be an impossible task to develop these parts.

they may be "based off of" BBB parts but the SBB has a much narrower bore-to-bore spacing ( 4.750" vs 4.240" ) and a shorter deck height. in real world terms, this means that every single dimension of every part must be changed. and then you have the issue of the different bolt patterns and oil / water passage arrangements.

the re-development time spent on every one these pieces, to get it 'right', will be non-trivial. in realistic terms, while TA has a 'basic' template they're starting from these are all going to be completely new pieces invented from scratch.

you should be thankful TA isn't trying to hang a bunch of guys with pre-order deposits before they get started on this. Mike is doing this on his own dime. until you put up your own money you really need to chill TF out.

quarter it, make adapter plates, jb weld, bolt on. Go to the bpg forum and you can find his research. pretty amazing stuff!

Exactly what Bob said. TA has already said, the 455 block gets done first, then the SP 350 intake. They haven't even given an availability date for the 455 block, how can you expect a release date for the intake? :spank: Ranting on TA about it isn't going to get it done any faster, so cool your jets. Everyone's so damn impatient these days... :puzzled:

If you guys really want to do something constructive about this, email or call Mike at TA and tell him (or Dave) how excited you are that they will be putting out some new 350 perf parts. :beers2:

Scroll down to the yellow skyhawk. Thats a Buick 350 with heavily ported heads, and all the goodies including a sectioned and rebuild M1 pre Magnum intake. Thats a 2900 pound car I believe......John G build the whole thing...

    Justa350 I'm BACK!

I concur, Mike rules, but it's not about impatience, it's about being an informed consumer. I can get race ported heads with bigger stainless valves and all the good stuff for about $2000, now. If I have some idea of when these heads will be available, and for what price, it could be worth the wait. The wait, however, is yet to be defined, or even BALLPARKED! Just looking for some idea here. Months? Years? Industry leaders like TA should be able to give us something to go on.

we small block guys have been starving since 1961. you'd think we would have learned patience by now. :spank:

no, seriously, i'm sure you'll get better results from this if you concentrate on sending Mike positive vibes instead of coming in here and going "gimme, gimme, gimme". i'm not seeing an email address on their web site but you could always send them a letter to buy a catalog and include a note telling them how much the small block parts announcement excites you. and you can also PM their accounts here on V8, of course.

it's been two months, we know that! (KIDDING:bla: )

I sure am excited though, it doesn't look likely that I'll be able to afford the heads for a good while... :(

AND here comes the new guy question!

What changes can I expect (power wise) if I just put an intake on? I'm still new at this, and I know its a dumb question but im still unsure...

But I dont think this small block Buick crowd has been this excited in a while!!! :TU:

Come on everyone at T/A ... We can't be anymore ready guys! :beers2:
