Hi all I'm seriously considering buying a new set of SE 1 heads and I figured I'd ask a few questions here before contacting TA to put in my order. I was wondering if anyone has ordered a set of new fully assembled TA SE heads lately, if so what rockers come with them when you order them fully assembled? What is the cost of entry level port/polish work? How long does it take from time of ordering to receiving them? The price on TA's website is that for a set or each head?
    Thanks!

I got my SE heads back in the spring. They were backed up at the time and it took about 30 days to get them. They dont come with rockers. Assembled means valves and springs installed, ready to go on the specs for your cam. I didnt opt for porting. The price is a set.

I think "fully assembled" refers to the valves and springs and not including rockers. Also, I think price is for a set.

Get the 11/32 valves ..no rockers are included,..$2700ish for a pair shipped

Entry level port work is 400 iirc

No rockers. Price is per set. Pay for as much porting as you can afford. You won't be sorry.

Ahhh ok I thought they were fully assembled ready to run. My cam is a TA 290 94H so I can go with stock rockers and shafts to start and upgrade to roller rockers later on. That was another question other than actual size what's the difference between the 3/8" and 11/32" valves? I assume the larger ones are stronger? Also for an extra $100 TA offers larger 2.260 intake valves, is that even worth it for street car or should I just stick with the 2.130 intake and 1.755 exhaust??

IIRC, if you go with the 2.26 valves, level 2 or 3 porting is required. May have to notch the pistons also.

Stick with the 2.130 valve,..11/32 stem just has better retainer options ie less weight

Awesome thanks guys! Time to call TA and set up a payment plan I guess lol. Good thing I have a few cash jobs lined up for this fall, only issue is mamma bear is gonna want her cut off the top once she finds out what I'm planning . She don't care what I spend as long as the household expenses are covered and she gets some side spending loot too

Heads are on backorder due to machine work right now so you have time.

Yeh I'm gonna give them a deposit to pur my name on a set then make payments over the winter to pay them off for spring so I'm not in a huge rush right now.

Still haven't pulled the trigger on these yet but just recently was informed on a possible easier and cheaper way to obtain these heads and get the porting done:).
