Last Saturday a group of 3 of us in our local model club got together and the local Global TV news sent out a reporter to do a story on the model building hobby, it took about and hour to get about a 1/2 hour of footage and I would venture after editing we'll end up with a 3-4 minute human interest story on the hobby. I'll see if I can post a link to it after it airs this evening if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Here's the link to the story for you to check out, I brought along a variety of my builds, street rods, trucks, musclecars plus some vintage unbuilt kits from the 50's & 60's and some recent releases. I brought along the current Wildcat & GSX kits plus had my '66 Skylark GS build on the table too. http://www.globalmaritimes.com/video/model+makers/video.html?v=2138902373#top+stories
I think I spotted a 66 GS on the table! Nice story! I wish I still had the patience to build models. I used to be so good at it. Still have some of he ones I did as a teenager. Now I just collect unbuilt plastic. You should go into business building kits for V8 members. The ones on the table looked awesome. Can you post some of your work?
Modelbuilding... a kids' hobby? I have the 1st model cars I ever got, for my 10th birthday, and have since collected over 300+ GM musclecar kits, and counting! I have 30 GSX kits, so far...:eek2: 1 built as a convertible; 1 as a Gold GSX; 1 as an Orange GSX NASCAR; most others waiting to be built, since put off to restore Stage 1 car!
Here's a few links to some of my builds, while I prefer Buicks, I like to build just about any type of vehicle in scale.... http://public.fotki.com/buickjef/restoration_of_an/ http://public.fotki.com/buickjef/1963_buick_rivierar/ http://public.fotki.com/buickjef/1965_buick_riviera/ And a lil bit of everything from the real stuff to the models can be found here.... http://public.fotki.com/buickjef/
