I'm a little nervous as well, but the current unemployment figures show something like a 3.8% unemployment rate. When I was in school for business administration, the rule of thumb was that 4% unemployment is actually considered to be full employment; roughly 4% are in the process of voluntarily changing jobs or just don't want to work. Right now today (redundant) in Fort Meyers (FL) there
is a job fair going on looking for construction workers. Many contractor trucks here have "We are hiring" signs on them. They have built eight houses on the dead-end street next to our house this past year, and there is one more under construction. Not trying to stir the pot, but virtually all of the workers were non-English-speaking Hispanics. Even the food truck was lettered that it sold "Mexican food." The only white guy that I saw there (other then the foremen) was the guy that drove the Port-a-potty truck. My point is that there is a major shortage of American workers. And yes, I know - the Hispanic workers that I mentioned could be American, but I'd bet against it. My personal prejudice may come out here - I don't care anything about race or religion, but you aren't an American until you can communicate in English - just my opinion.

I may have mis-spoken, but I will admit there is a very small portion of subsidies involved, but the majority is in the Solar sector, very little in the Auto or SpaceX. You inferred it was a majority, its not, and Musk does own the Majority and he des infuse his own money to keep the wheels moving, another $25 million buy just today. Anyway as I said I don't care, he makes me money.......You don't like this stock, stay on the sidelines.

I personally buy and sell Tesla repeatedly, I'm not in it for a 401K retirement plan......this is a Stock Play, and it does great ups and downs this year with plenty of profits.

If I recall correctly, in 2016, Tesla had 18 billion in total sales AND received 200 billion in subsidies. If an idea can’t make it out in the open market then Government sure as heck shouldn’t subsidize it!

GranSportSedan, you can stop posting opinions that contradict the Stocks value, its the Stock Market, it has no rhyme or reason for probably 99% of its ups or downs, what matters is what makes money, not sentiment, not truth, not spread sheets, not opinions not valuation, not right nor wrong..........Its the actual value at the exact moment you either buy or sell........I don't care if a single car gets built, or if its a over valued taxpayer supported fraudulent hedge fund...........My account grows everytime the market says it shouldn't, and if Musk wants to prop it up with his money, cool, I hope he keeps doing it.

You just described the US Corn market since the 1970's perfectly........but we still buy corn, and corn products and corn futures.......so the point is mute really.

As long as you’re aware of the iceberg, and have a plan to jump off before you hit it, enjoy the cruise, but I wouldn’t plan on making it to port with dry feet.

Me too, everybody has an opinion, and they are rarely the same. What gets me the most is the example just at the top that Mr. Gibbs posted proving his statement that Tesla is Publicly funded.....so not true, it say Elon Musk gets funding, which isn't true either....What is true is SOME of Elon Musk's businesses get subsidized, his SOLAR projects do.......But it get twisted into TESLA.....laughable how truth and facts rarely cross paths.....

Elon Musk is not cutting edge, he is an engineer with $s implenting ideas others have not had the resources to implement. There is nothing cutting edge, there is only good ideas finally being implemented.

The whole Tesla thing seems like it’s being shoved down our throats. I see multiple articles printed everyday about them. I’m not against electric cars by any means but I think there’s definitely an agenda afoot to put everyone in electric/self driving cars.

As fast as they are, they will never sound as good as our Buick’s. Know doubt the future is here but once a new battery is invented it’ll be a game changer.

Regardless of how swoopy it is, current battery technology still sucks, and makes electric cars nothing more than a toy, or a very limited distance commuter vehicle, unless they are paired with a gas engine.

If old E was a genius, he would invent the correct battery.. it would provide enough energy for 500+ miles, yet be inexpensive and eco-friendly.

That battery does not exist.. yet..

And with that, we are pretty far away from anything Buick, so let's move on guys..
