I got a Pioneer tube and stick from Rockauto PC768023 and they claim it fits TH400, th350, th200 and 700. How can they all use the same parts? Anyone use this PN on a 200 or anything else? Is the full mark accurate? Anybody have an OE 200 tube and stick handy to take some measurements for comparison? thanks
I tried but seems I removed all the tubes and sticks for transport when I moved. I can’t tell them from one another!
Steve, The factory stick is 30-1/4" from tip to where top of tube would be. It's a pita to try and get the tube length for you in the car......
Jeff, thats what I was needing to know. If the stick or tube were the incorrect lengths the level could be way off. They need to match each other as well as the trans. Thats why I found it hard to believe this part fits all those different transmissions. Thanks to all for the info.
A th200, th200c and the th2004r are three different transmissions. If I were looking for one for the 2004r, I'd hit the turbobuick.com parts for sale section.
Well I did a deep dive on this. The replacement is 29 1/4" from where it would stop on the top of the tube to the lowest end. Thats 1" shorter than what Mart has. And that would be OK if the tube matched it and placed the full mark in the correct place. With this piece installed there is maybe 1/8" of the stick below the pan level. From the stop bead on the tube to the end of the stick is 2 1/2" I really need an OE GM part to compare to and then I can adjust this part to read the same. Anybody have an OE GM part to loan me? Thanks
Hopefully your pioneer tube has the 1" shorter tube to fit the 1" shorter stick. The factory tube is rather tall and comes close to the top of my drop base air cleaner with the SP3, 3" element and a 1" tapered spacer under it.
I bought a replacement stick and tube for my 2004r from summit. I don't remember the brand but I do remember there was directions to cut the tube a certain amount depending on which trans it was going in..
Having a tube too high can cause issues so an overall length doesnt tell you all you need as it could be longer above the trans bolt and short on the other end. If what you have fits the whole, and bolts in the correct location you can always adjust the little bends up top on the stick to get it to the correct pan rail depth or just remark it
I know it needs to be modified. To do that a need to know exactly, without doubt were the level should be. A factory GM part. Matched tube and stick could tell me that. With the part I bought the level would end up about 1 1/4" above the pan rail and I don't believe that is correct.
I don't know if got the oil dipstick tubes, but I have so many stock oil tubes, mostly for a BBB,but i'm sure I do have at least one for the SBB.Bruno.You know I think I did not read this right.I do have the oil tube a dipstick for a GN V6,in very good condition. So if anybody needs and it gets to me.I got at least one.Bruno.
It’s common practice on those transmissions to run them 1 quart over full, especially if it’s a hard leaving application. With the design of the pan it’s not uncommon to uncover the pickup, starving the trans got fluid. There are deep pans available, and also spacers that drop the factory pan enough to allow the use of 4L60E filters.
I run a 700r4 filter on mine with a stock pan. Just need to cover the VB switch so the filter doesn't ground it and make it switch.
If you could remove the tube from the case and measure the distance from the stop bead on the tube to the full mark on the dipstick. Thats all I need.
