Going to have new seals put in my trans (TH350). Trans is all original for a '72 350 car, except for a Transgo 1-2 shift improver kit. Has almost 200k on it.
    Motor is a 455 w/ eddy heads & a TA212 cam. 2.56 rear gear. Hues 2k advertised stall converter.

Besides friction discs, what should be done to the internals?

A reputable local builder will do the work, but I have no idea what strength / performance upgrades I should ask for?

I would like to atleaste sound competent when I bring in the trans.

They should be competent if they are a professional, reputable shop. Just tell them what kind of horsepower and torque you plan to run through it and ask them for recommendations. A turbo 350 should be cheaper than most to build up. They should be able to tell you what needs to be done, like hardened parts and the best clutches.

Are you happy with the converter? Now would be the time to get a custom unit if you need improvements.
