Thanks guys. Yeah I don't think people realize the wheels that were on it were not the stock ones and had the total wrong offset. They were inside the wheel wells so far that when we hammered out a couple very minor dings in the fenders, I didn't have to pull the wheels and tires to have total access with a pick and hammer inside the fender well. Looked like you dropped the body on a modern front wheel drive chassis in person.

Sorry Pat, had to get back to my computer at work before I could answer you to check my e-mails for where they came from for sure:

Wheels came from Performance Plus Tire: https://www.performanceplustire.com/sc/

Tires came from US Tire Works: https://ustireworks.com/

Few more projects done: swapped the crap generator for a Powermaster Powergen alternator, new mirror, engine detailing, etc, nothing too serious. Headlight dimmer miraculously started working when I switched the generator out, now getting 14.4v at idle. Figure wasn't enough juice to flip the relay. Been driving it almost daily, did a 500 mile road trip with no issues. Have an electric fan and shroud showing up next, the car overheated waiting in the Burger King drive through for 30 minutes the other day when it was 90+ degrees, but other then that, it's been great for over 1000 miles so far. Have to fix the previous owner's copious use of blue and red NAPA butt connectors one of these weekends....next big thing/change happening at the end of the month....

Thanks Kirt!.....Last night's little project: The A/C was inop when I got it, but just turned out to be that most the hoses were really loose. Tightened them up, put 2 lbs of R134 in it last night, and we've got ice cold air conditioning now, which is nice with the greenhouse effect of all the glass. The hoses being loose is all kind of adding up with other issues on the car. It had 3 hose clamps per radiator fitting, but the upper and lower hoses were still leaking when I got the car. Figured they had put a radiator with the wrong size fittings in the car, but after checking, found all 12(!) radiator hose clamps pretty much finger tight. Most fittings and other things previously worked on have been found to be really loose. The previous owners were in their 80s, and they got it from a friend of theirs that was also around that age, so I think the previous wrencher didn't realize he doesn't have the strength he had when he was 30 years old, so everything he touched is loose as a goose. Oh, well, haven't had any broken fittings or bolts from a Hercules wannabe getting crazy on them, which is nice, and all the leaks and things have been a matter of getting on them with a wrench or screwdriver.

Got the electric fan finished up last night after work. Radiator was a little far back so had some pump to fan motor interference. Some radiator mount modification and we're in business by 1/8". Let the car idle in the driveway for 30 minutes after a 45 minute cruise and all is well, never gets above the first notch on the temp gauge now. Will polish everything up better later on.... Going for an organized cruise this morning through a bunch of old folks and assisted living homes to cheer them up, they've been stuck there for months. Hopefully brighten their day a little :).

Hahahahaha....well thanks guys. Just always trying to keep the "karma" tilted the proper way now. Wasn't always so good at doing that back in my younger days..... so for the cruise we had rain. I haven't quite got the wipers at 100% on the car yet, sometimes they work fine, sometimes not at all, and sometimes they just turn on by themselves while you're driving around town and its sunny out. 75% sure I've got a park switch issue. So I've got the motor disconnected for now. Took the F100 and my dog Chopper out as the backup plan. About 30 cars and bikes when we were expecting a few hundred, but it was good. The people were really happy, excited, and waving as we went through their residence's streets and parking lots. Chopper got a ton of attention :) I'll post a few pics here and put a thread up in the bench tomorrow. We made the news briefly and I'll link up the clip tomorrow at work as I don't know how to do that on my phone..... seatbelt install is next on the Caddy, we'll see how motivated I feel today when I get rolling.....

Some one wise once said that we are who we are, because of things we've done and people we been with in the past.. That's what form us..

And regarding the wipers, I know one who had the same problem, on a 62' caddy.. He said it was the solenoid..

There's an insane amount of parts and tools to take one of these doors apart....then you find the issue isn't your lock cylinders, but some hokie aftermarket vacuum actuator. Ugh.
