What is the long 4" for? Where in which head does it go? I've never seen it before.

It's on the drivers side...center bolt, I believe. Impossible to remove without getting the manifold out first:laugh:

Actually it's on the passenger side bottom/rear (cylinder # 8, bottom bolt). You are correct that it can't be removed or installed without being in the manifold. I think the one on the driver's side is 2 5/8", and it can be removed/installed with the manifold on the car. :TU:

    Dave,

Do you know where the 4 inch bolt can be purchased? Also, I'm looking for a stud for where the bracket from the AC attaches ( at the front of the exhaust manifold). Probably should use a bolt in this location . I have a the amk catalog and have read this thread. Not sure about the 4 incher and a stud that would work. it's for 1970 GS 455.

    thanks,
    Steve

DL, I am not sure. It looks like it did, so I ordered. I will know when I get it in few days. As you know, these kits never list the sizes and I didn't call them.
Why do Buicks have to be so hard when it comes to parts? We are like the "rodney dangerfields" when it comes to parts, but that what makes them special to me.

Steve, I would be glad to buy 1 or even 2 of the 4" bolts if that is indeed what you get. I would aslo be interested in your excess from AMK to cut down on what I need to order and lower your cost. Let me know when you get thme. Thanks

I forgot to post what was in that Falcon Kit # 3476. It is bascially a Ford kit from AMK and actually has www.amkproducts.com on the side of the box. It has (5) B-12469 which are 2 5/8" in length and (6) B-12464 bolts which are 1 1/8" in length. They are Ram-Loc bolts. I will not be needing most of them. I think it is only one of the 1 1/8 inchers and two of the 2 5/8 inch bolts. They are Ramp-Locks. No 4 inch bolts in this kit.

Really ?? I thought they specified one that length?

Nothing was specified and they do not list what size bolts are in the kit. I just took a chance and ordered the $18 kit Code-3476 from FalconParts.com. and that is what I received. Only 2 different length bolts. Falcon just resells a AMK kit that is for Fords like a lot of the catalog places do, but you would know more about that than I.
