    Hi Buick geeks !

My Skylark '70 is the first American car i own and with which I make so many parts order errors. I ordered the only fuel pump with a/c available on Rockauto.com and it's not the right part (AIRTEX #41197). Everything was good until I connected the line that goes from the fuel pump to the carb... I can not connect it because the L-shaped input next to it goes the wrong way (you can see on pic the way is different from the old pump...) and block the passage of the line.

The only reference found on the old pump (#211R40944 ) doesnt help me but but it's a AC Delco with the "AC" logo. Do you know the matching reference ? And where i can order it with international shipping (to France) ?

    My Buick : Matching Skylark '70 - v8 350 4BBL

    Thank you !

I'm afraid to break the stem by bending it. I prefer to order a new fuel pump and sell the current one.
The one that you propose to me seems good but the salesman specifies that it is for Buick 1970 350-2BBL and i got a 4BBL. Maybe a mistake, it's strange.

I used the fuel pump from TA Performance. Fits well, runs well.

Mike from TA Performance learns me my old fuel pump was for a '72 Skylark so my fuel line doesnt fit with my new pump (AIRTEX #41197) made for a '70. I ordered a fuel line sold as "1968-72 Buick Skylark 350 cid 4bbl" (here: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/1968-72-Bui...-To-Carburetor-Line-Tube-Carb-OE/192707062889) but it's the same as the old one (compatible with a 1972 fuel pump). I asked TA Performance if they sell the right fuel line.

Not sure why you are having trouble with the 41197. The metal fuel line should clear the supply line connection. Looks like there is plenty of room.

That should be the correct fuel pump for a 350 2 or 4bbl. Are you sure you have the metal line oriented properly?

Thank you for your answers ! My father-in-law is lending me his tube bender tonight. I will try to bend the hose.

It's a fail. I bended my line in a lot of ways and its too complicated to join the fuel pump connector... Just cause of this L-angle. Now i will pay a professionnal to made a flexible metallic line. Very very strange. Anyone got a pic of his 3 lines fuel pump? Thanks. I desesperate.

I ended up with a straight main supply not angled to solve my conflict.

I think your problem stems from either having the wrong steel line, or having it oriented incorrectly. Difficult to tell from the pictures.

If you can make a -6AN braided line, all you need is two 5/8-18 to male 6AN conversion fittings, one at the carburetor, one at the fuel pump.

I think the steel line is fine but needs some rough love to mate to the pump properly. It then news to be torqued carefully. Just had that problem assuming 455 and 350 are similar.

I can send you a picture of a original 350 fuel line with the fuel pump still attached,I saved it like that.Bruno.

Hi ! The car started this weekend, after 6 months of work and 30 minutes to understand why there was no electricity (voltage regulator connection failure) ! :D
I ended up cutting each end of the hose to connect them with a rubber hose. I wanted to do an almost 100% matching number job but it became very complicated for a simple hose !
    Thanks for your help! ;)

You need to route the fuel hose forwards of fuel pump. Thats how the metal line runs. Why ,you ask? Because the exhaust heat will destroy the rubber, fuel then will pump onto the hot exhaust manifold, causing a fire and burning up your car.
Thats why gm runs an all metal line there. Less risk of fire.

I thought my hose was far enough away from the manifold (about 4 inches apart) and should not this type of fuel hose handle the heat? You may be right and I should put the hose in front (by shortening the metal fitting on the pump in a straight line down).

    Maybe some heat wrap sleeve.

That is what I thought, move the line to the front off pump as said then wrap it. I'd think you would be ok.
