Anybody here read this book yet? I just read it on a camping trip over the weekend. I thought it was certainly a touching, moving, encouraging and inspirational read, and I certainly recommend it.

While I know the story is purported to be true and as accurate as possible in the re-telling, there is some theology that I wonder about in the book. Perhaps I just need to sit with it a bit longer, but, quite honestly, some statements/conclusions in there make me scratch my head.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it! It sounds like the book is doing wonders in terms of bringing many people to know, understand and appreciate God and his love, which is fantastic in my books (pardon the pun). :TU:

    Any other thoughts? :Do No:

Well...I actually never heard of it. I'll have to look it up. Getting in a camping trip before work?

I've been wanting to announce your graduation, but I'm afraid I'll goober up the facts. So don't be shy and tell these folks what you just accomplished......with the good hand of God on you of course!!!

Haha, aw, thanks Dan! Yeah, went down to the Great Smokies in TN with a few guys before starting my summer work, and I'll probably plan to have a personal camping trip/spiritual retreat before I start my work in Montreal. Kinda like Jesus' 40 days in the desert, but not 40 days.

If you can, give the book a read. It's a real page turner! :TU:

The Shack has opened a lively discussion in some circles. Like you said, the theology can leave you scratching your head. At the student center where I work, our director did a three week series teaching from the book. If you are interested, click on the link below, look for Message Archive, then at the top you'll find three links to "Eddie's Message series" - powerpoint presentations from those sermons.

I found the discussion with "Sophia" (wisdom) to be the very best section in the book.
