took the lark 455 with a 4bbl 850 quadrajet carb for a run today on highway and while going WOT into the highway the throttle stuck and I had to stomp it twice to get it to release. It doesn’t seem to be catching on the floor or may or anything.

What should I do? Would a stuck kickdown switch so this? Stuck open carb? Help please- I can’t have this ever happen again lol

Can you duplicate the issue in the driveway with the engine off? Are you sure you have the correct baseplate gasket? Possibility the throttle blades might be hanging up on the gasket. Do you have the factory throttle return spring on there going to the bracket on the intake?

A driver side broken motor mount can make the cable bind.

Thank you. Checked that and they both are solid and new. Looks like the prior owner put new TA ones in.

I have had a return spring mounted too low in the front. When throttle was wide open, then spring hit the throttle arm and locked it open. I used a raised throttle spring perch to solve.
