I want to "re-whiten" the lettering on my tires.

I like that block letter spinning around look when cruising.

What is the best paint to use? Anyone with experience to share?

    Thanks!

I'm not recommending this, but try it on ONE of the white letters. Many years ago I worked at an auto dealership. I came to work one morning and asked the detail man what he used to get the whitewalls on a car SO perfect. He looked at me, laughed and said "gasoline". I have tried it myself, sparingly and it does get the letters white. But...I can't say I know what it does to the rubber, if anything.

You use to be able to go to your local parts store and pick up a tire white crayon stick. That's what I use to use back in the day,but I haven't seen them in a while. There is a guy selling them by the box on ebay, kinda pricey with the shipping. You could try the white paint stick from testors. You can find them where they sell models.I got mine at Walmart.

Wesleys cleaner//bleach will clean them white. It is sold at most auto stores.

If the tires are "very old" and the white has actually faded, then I hope you aren't driving on them! Tires more than about 6-8 years old are really only good for pulling a show car on/off the trailer.

Otherwise, I've had very good luck with the Bleche-White that is sold pretty much everywhere (with a scrub brush and a hose).

I've seen the Duplicolor Hot Tires paint sticks before but haven't heard any feedback on them yet. Does it look good? Any flaking or peeling due to heat or tire flexing?

I'ev wanted to use such a product for years to turn modern, high-performance black-wall tires into raised white letters. I just want to hear some positive feedback before ruining a set of tires.

Have not had my tires painted long enough to give feedback. the painted letters look good if you dab on the paint. does not do well trying to paint it on.

Any great technological advancements in the last three years?
My son wants to paint the letters on my new to me M/T et streets, and I like the idea as long as it doesn't turn out poorly.
    Thanks,
