i have a 12 bolt rearend in a 86 regal. looking to get a new set of tires and rims. what is the widest tire i can put on and what is the most backspacing can i get away with

I ran a 12 bolt (70 monte carlo) in a 78 Malibu (same frame as a Regal) and I got away with 275-60-15 tires using a 8" weld wheel with 5" back spacing with no fender/frame modifications. The 12 bolt rearends such as the 66-67 Chevelles had a 12 bolt that was not as wide as the full size chevys like the monte carlo.
