So I was ready to swap out my occassioally gringing other mini starter to Tom's in my Henry J. I saw a small round female connector coming off the main feed to the motor.
What is this for and should I remove it or seal it?
I'm running just two red leads and the purple currently.

    hjsonnie,

That would be for the yellow wire if you are using one. It is a one way diode. Most likely you are not. It's protected BUT you can seal it if it makes you feel better.

Thanks, Tom. It's been a few years since I picked it up at your old shop location. Just wanted to be sure. I test fit it yesterday and it will also give me way more room and great bolt access, too. Hope all is well. Thanks, Don

It's not a few years as I have been out of that shop going on 6 years now.

Yeah yeah. Time gets away from us from time to time. Now that I have young kids again. But recent events have found me some spare time for my hobbies.(thank god) It feels good to be turning some wrenches.
Any ways, the starter is a bit quieter and no more rubbing/grinding at the flex plate during hard acceleration. No shimming either, like it was made for it!!
    Thanks, Tom
