Currently I have the body off the frame on my 1971 Buick GS. It looks like I am going to have to replace the Trunk floor pan. I have called, Year one, OPG and CARS INC.
CARS offers a 7 pice kit for the cheepest price. The sales rep. can not tell if the kit will cover the entire trunk floor. Also if the 3 top panels have overlaping seams for easy welding ect.
OPG's Sales rep. says their kit {should} cover the entire Trunk side to side. Also the patch panels do have seam overlap.
Year one says the same as OPG. But will be 2 weaks till in stock.
OPG and YEAR ONE also offer a 1 pice entire patch panel that {should} cover the entire trunk floor ? Also the guy at YEAR ONE said the one pice panel may not go in the car with out removing a Quarter panel.,, NO WAY, Right ? ,,
I need a kit that will cover the most from side to side and up the back. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I would like to order a Kit ASAP. Thanks,,,

    Hi Richard,
For my -70 I used the taiwan made pieces from Sherman parts, the stampings were almost a perfect match.
    Sherman part no: 707-76TL , 707-76TR, 707-76CT
They go all the way from left to right, and there is some overlap. I also used frame braces from OPG.
Take a look at the picture to see how far up they go in front and back, I trimmed them in front and back to fit my needs.

Don't bother with the multi piece jobs anymore. Way too much work. There is a full size pan out there now. It goes all the way to the back seat. They are year specific. Get the 71-72 (not 70)style. Cheapest I see is www.ss396.com.. I do not think too many places sell this pan yet. They are still trying to pawn off all the pieces that are seperate. Looks like this has everything all put together. I think the very rear may be different as made for Chevelle but should be easy to graft for good body guy. All countours look correct.

Thanks Dave and Christian. Looking at the 1 piece trunk pan for around 499.00 plus freight. I had to consider going with The Parts Place 7 piece kit. Although I would love to have the 1 piece pan the cost is a bit cheeper for the 7 piece kit. It is Less than $300.00. I have a good size home shop and a Miller Mig. So For me I think this is the easiest way to go. The only problem now is staying motivated. The Kit will arrive Tuesday so my best bet may be to focus on tearing down the frame and getting it to Powdercoating,. I got a quote for $700.00 including the trans. cross member. Is that fair?. Im Getting burned out sitting under the body removing undercoat with a needle scaler. Nasty work. Im taking Pictures as I go. I would like to start a post of my work so maybe I could get some coments that would give me that old push to keep going. TA will be shiping me my built 455 next week, So that should fire me up some. Thanks,

Good choice on the 1 piece:TU: the 3 piece is 3 times more welding and buckling. Needle scaler? get a propane torch and drywall spatula and start scraping.

No one makes an aftermarket floor for the full size Buicks for those years.
