I wish I lived closer, I'd like to own another Electra. Mine has a head gasket leak.

Local sale? I wouldn't expect more than $2000 for it, especially with things the way they are now, people seem to be out looking for deals.

If it were my car I wouldn't sell it for less than $2200-$2500 depending on how good of shape it is in. You would most likely get more for it online if you're willing to go through the hassle. I haven't seen a triple white '76 for quite a while, and I usually check eBay several times a week for 74-76 Electra parts. If it's as nice as it looks I would imagine you could get around $3500 for it...maybe more.

Beautiful car, but unfortunately 1970s big four doors with smogged out V8s just don't carry much worth. 78PAs post is accurate.

I don't know your personal situation, but I would venture to guess that you would be better off keeping the car than selling it and getting a measly $2000 for it. Not many of these pop up on eBay with leather, and even fewer come up with white leather. I can only remember one of them in the last 4 years that was triple white, and one was a two door.

Enjoy the car, and make sure to stop by v8buick to chat.

Well, reading this, I guess it is not smart to tell that my Riv is valued at 23.000 USD in The Netherlands, Europe. Bought it for 6000 Euro, had it repainted for 7500 Euro, rechromed bumper etc. and now it is valued at 19.500 Euro.

    But I'll never sell her.....

It's only a 6 year difference but light years apart as far as collectability; if it isn't a low mileage Riviera, you probably wouldn't get that much over here as you could in Europe since there are very few classic cars.

Huge difference in cars right there, and how did you come to figure the "value" an apprasial? Good luck getting $23 000 for it. You could legitimately buy 3 of them in the U.S. for that price. There's a half dozen 1971-1973's on Ebay right now, and not one of them is priced over 7000.

Maybe you should come over to Europe and attend a few car meetings, that will change your opinion about how many American cars there are in Europe.
And you will find a large number of Buicks at those meetings.
We even have the highest number of Boattails per square mile in the world.

That Electra will sell for 7500 Euros/9,971.25 USD easily here in the Netherlands, and that has to do with the fact that it's road tax exempt and it's very easy to convert it to run on LPG (unleaded).

Road tax for a car like that (2200 KG) will be around 1440 Euro/1,914.48 USD for 1 year.
With an LPG conversion the road tax will be 2524 Euro/3,355.66 USD for 1 year (running a car on LPG is much cheaper compared to petrol)

So a road tax exempt vehicle will always sell for a lot more.

    Ditto that.
That Electra has even extra potential while it is a white, 4 door one. You can easily earn some money, if you like, by renting it (with driver) for weddings and other parties a few times a year.

The car looks very sharp. The cool thing about the big cars is that they are not generally in high demand as collectibles in the US so you can get them at a good price. On top of that they were the top of the Buick line so they are very good cars. I'd say keep it.

If you like this kind of car, I'd say keep it! I have a friend who sold his 1976 Electra Limited with 16,000 miles on it for 8,000$ Can. a few years ago. It was in great shape but it lacked most options! It didn't even have a/c.

    thanks all .
-thats a good idea on renting it . but then again if i keep it i dont really want anyone tearing it up .
    - and i would sell it for the riht price . i had an offer of $3,500 but would like to get a little more. i would def. keep it if it would fit in my garage . i have to store it 30 miles away to be inside so when ever i want to drive it i have to drive 30minutes to get it

Myself, I'd hang onto it at least a few years until the economy makes a turn for the better.

Beautiful car! I generally don't care for white cars, but yours is the exception!

I tell you what though, if you did need to sell it I would get the word out to collectors overseas.
As Erik implied, there is a stronger demand for the full size cars over there.

In fact, I am contemplating doing just that after mine is painted. Why not?

I have my mind set on this 1976 Electra 2drs we came across on our little Road Trip last December:

This will be a cheaper daily driver compared to my 1994 Park Avenue (road tax and insurance) :TU:
