    Hi Guys

I have a friend that has a 72 Olds 442. Wondering if anyone might have a real good complete set of tubular control arms that they are not using. He doesn't have a lot of cash for new ones so just trying to see if I can help him out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Leo

Have UMI rear lower single adjustables. Like new. Will get part number and price after work this evening.

    .

I'm guessing the compilation is driving the price down.
Looking at the link you posted, at the top there is pics of front sets starting at$219.oo for both upper and lower. If the cheeper ones have great reviews and are powder coated . Maybe, I'll be getting a set. I have herd that one reason to go tube was better steering geometry. And I'm guessing that means it handlles better.
But I bet you loose some of that smooth Buick ride. Especially if you do front and rear. I hear if you also do the neoprene body mounts it's an extra bad ride

I actually run the Jeg’s adjustable uppers and lowers on a few cars, and very happy with them. Street driven daily, and work great at the track too. The lowers have holes for a sway bar.
    The non-adjustables are cheaper.

I was referring to their rear arms. I haven’t used their fronts, but I am sure they are having a reputable company make them.
I don’t run any matched front sets on my cars because of my spindles. I hand pick and assemble everything.

Those prices - Jegs - they are likely Asian. Up to the buyer whether they wish to risk that.

I know my rear arms are made in USA. I don’t know about the fronts. I do know that the cheap eBay knock-offs are obviously overseas. Just short of junk. Most are copies of Hotchkis or Global West, but if you would actually put them side by side, the gig is up.

My rear lower arms are tubular single adjustable and have holes for a swaybar. UMI 4014 red retail $219.
I'll take $170 shipped in lower US states.

    About that smooth ride:
I have Global West front bushings in my stock A-arms. Those stock rubbers are gone and these GW bushings are realy hard bearings.
Rear arms have rubber, polyurethane, heim joints, Johnny joints, etc. I.ve tried different ones and the ride is always dependent on my adjustable shock settings only. Stiff setting = stiff ride, and soft = soft.
Even my hard polyurethane body/frame mounts, factory boxed frame, and helwig 1 1/8" rear anti-sway bar have the same results.
Rock solid 67 GS launching straight like its on rails at the drag strip. Consistant 1.63 60 ft times. Smooth ride home.

Thanks for the reply guys. I will be seeing my buddy on Saturday. Some of those prices seem real good. The first set I had on my car a few years ago were garbage. Now have Detroit Speed upper and lower with QA1 coil overs. Handles like a dream but definitely a stiffer ride. I know I paid a lot more than that!!
