It is way too late right now...and that just blew my mind. Those dyno numbers are insane.

    Will,

Ha, I was just thinking about you and your build...just the other day. Great progress. I`ll be sure to call Wayne and have him see these progress pics. Keep up the great work and progress.

Any idea yet, if your going to keep the paint original color or something else?

I haven't been on this board in a while - sorry for the late response. The car is coming along slowly but surely. The work Wayne did (you may have been involved as well) before I picked it up has made things easier. It's nice to work on a clean car without all the gunk, grease, and rust that can be typical. We did run into some hidden rot when we cut out the firewall but it was nothing major. No way anyone could have seen it with the firewall still intact. There's a thread over on yellowbullet.com with more detailed and up to date pics on the fabrication up to this point. >>>>> http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303729&page=9

The paint color won't be the bamboo cream - I've got something else in mind.

Very nice indeed. I noticed the Nelson intake right off, didn't know he sold that stuff individually. He is also big on the duel fuel stuff and I think most of his turbo setups are done using it. The only thing that would make that motor stand out even more would be a pair of his mirror image turbos :)

I showed my godfather this thread who has been a long time Pontiac guy for decades. Blew his mind. He was shocked at all the metal work for the bars. I feel SOOO bad for the 20 something idiot in a low end import like a civic who pulls up next to you thinking he's going to teach you a lesson. You're going to ruin his life.

Bobb's Procharged GS is only making 1500 HP (how can you say only 1500 HP?) and he can lift the wheels at the 1000 ft mark. What will this thing do.

Well the block is good for 2000hp and Nelson racing has built at least 3 1800hp+ LX-based engines, a 1450HP one and few in the 1100hp range. All were street engines that were dual fuel capable like this one. So if this one didn't do 1500 given it has more cubes than all of nelson's example I'd be surprised.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Life gets in the way sometimes but this project is still moving forward. Car is at the painter now and scheduled for the interior shop first of year. The plan is to have this thing done by next spring.

I need some help................We had the entire car media blasted and what originally appeared to be good body work has turned out to be not so good. Both front fenders are junk as is the pass side door. I know this is a long shot but does anyone have any 70 fenders or doors in good condition?

Still working on it believe it or not. Had the entire car media blasted which showed up some really shoddy body work that is taking a ton of time to fix in addition to all the other stuff we're doing with it. Hopefully it won't be much longer......

Nice looking under carriage, I just hope you have a plan for the exhaust to go through there. GL

Awesome on all accounts. I forced myself to stay with a BBB instead of a BBC just because I wasn't going for a race motor and could make the power I wanted and my budget could afford with out going to crazy. And I'm definitely not a purist. Those cars are cool to see but not for me. Can't wait to see it in a youtube premier laying down the power.

Not using a BBB was a tough choice but I finally had to concede that I couldn't achieve what I wanted with what's available. I know the TA block can handle the power but it had just come out when I started this project. I talked to Mike at TA and at the time he didn't even have any cam blanks and didn't know when they would be getting any. There still aren't any really good flowing heads with the bolt provisions to run high boost not to mention the other supporting hardware. I'm obviously not a purist but I do respect those that are as long as they respect mine. I know there will be those that hate me and the car for the non BBB but to each his own I guess.

The exhaust is already finished - it's done in 4 sections using V-band connections at all joints - 3.5" stainless with Borla race mufflers going over the axle and out the back. We used oval tubing between the chassis bars and the floor pans. You can't even see it without rolling under car. It's tight around the driveshaft in a couple of spots but it fits.
