Are there any upgrades that can be done for a blower motor on a 65 Skylark? I wasn't sure if a different squirrel cage could be used or a different motor to spin the stock cage faster. With cool weather starting to roll in I could stand to not freeze my A$$ off again this coming winter :eek2::ballhopefully no more record lows or -20's *F either). I plan on replacing the heater core before the temps drop below 32, which will allow me to clean out what's left of the old mouse nest I couldn't get out without removing the housing :af: for better airflow. I will also replace all the weatherstripping in the car(that whole no weatherstripping between the glass kinda screwed me over :laugh, and probably get new insulation for under the hood. I already had a 195*F stat that I am considering replacing to something higher temp wise and changing out with the engine come spring. I would just like to be comfortable/hot with my nice heavy duty columbia winter coat on rather than shivering or having hypothermia :bla:. Thank you all so very much(don't answer if you don't want me on the board by next springp:laugh.
I know of no upgrade for a blower motor, but if you want to spin it faster, have a look at the resistor assembly. That is what determines the different fan speeds. Maybe find a way to modify the resistance to increase fan speed. That's all I got.
I bet after you clean out the rest of the mouse nest for better air flow, and install weather :TU:stripping you might find you don't need a bigger better blower motor
