Replaced steering gearbox yesterday with the fast ratio (2.5 turns) chevelle box. Installed new rag joint also. Other than the usual "pushing and prodding" to get things lined up this was one of the easiest things I've changed on the car. Took it for a ride and the difference is amazing, no off center numbness and slop of the old unit. Car goes straight and turns in well. I autocrossed the car last year and the old steering was a pain, I'm hoping with the faster box the car will run better. Recommend this change!
I’ve always been more a straight-ahead,drag race myself,but I have done plenty of handling suspensions for customers. You can really get these A-bodies to handle.
