I know it is last minute again, but I need some advise. PST offers 10% on all their product range.

My Buick still has drums in the front. I am confused about the setup, because I can remove the drums without the hub. This design is not shown in the manual.

I want to convert to disc in the front and want to go with the Wilwood Kit
    https://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/B...year=1970&make=Buick&model=GS+455&option=Base
    along with the master cylinder
    https://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderProd?itemno=261-13270-BK
I am concerned if the kit fits with my spindels

Can anyone confirm, that the kit will mechanically work with my spindels?

Also want to order a front end kit. The bushings of the lower control arm have different diameters (front and rear). The diameters are 42mm (1.65") and 34,6mm (1.36"). Is that a 1970 modelyear control arm??

Buick offered a disc brake and drum brake spindle. I am not sure if wilwoods will bolt into a drum spindle.

Assuming you have a 68-72, I would buy the kit if that’s what your dead set on, try and bolt it onto the original drum spindles and if it doesn’t work, post a wanted ad for disc spindles on the board. I think it should work though.

a cheaper and easier alternative might just be buying a factory style setup for a 64-72 skylark. Depending on your intentions with the car, that particular wilwood setup isn’t going to out perform a disc setup.

I did a different wildwood kit, more dragrace dedicated with thin light rotors, the only issue I had was with the upper mounting bolt...........they sent large diameter thread......they wanted you to drill and tap to new size. But this was and tapered headed bolt so I just ordered bolts just like but like my threads. Clearly some cars use a different thread in the top bolt.

They use spacers to square the bracket up

My car was 72 orginsl non power drums

1st picture shows difference in size of bolts

2nd is I out grease on smaller threaded bolt to see how much of the bracket it truly engaged

    3rd is finial install

Might have to zoom in to get clear view
But mine stops with no issue at just under 130, the angle of the these bolts are the same so I felt it was the easiest and seems safe...........but if you choose this way do so at your own choice.

Thanks guys, that helped. I also did read the instructions from Wilwood 100 times and decided to pull the trigger and order. For whatever reason my order did not go thru, so I did send an email to PST. Curious about the response.
The drum spindles should work and I will work with them, as they do not require a spacer for the upper bolt in between the spindle and the adapter plate.
@ BrunoD: If you have a decent set of DRUM spindles also, I would be interested. That way I could keep my original drum brake setup as is and put it in storage.
