Valve Cover Holes

    Greetings.

My 430 has chrome OEM(?) proper valve covers (they're ribbed just like the steel, painted ones). One side (passenger) has a 1" hole in it, I suspect for the air cleaner breather tube. I don't use the stock air cleaner, so what are my options to fill this hole? Seems too small for a standard breather. The Star Wars air cleaner doesn't use that breather hose either, and I can see some kind of push-in breather installed in those engines.

Still searching the internet for solutions...

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

    K&N crankcase vent filters.
Various sizes (both filter and the stem) and colors available.

    TA Performance sells them.
(I give them money every time I need something that they sell. They're good folks)

I have a push in breather in my valve cover so they are certainly out there. Not sure of the size, the hole on the valve cover may be 1" without the grommet but in that case, it needs a breather with a smaller stem, maybe 3/4"

Someone posted a thread for a rubber gasket for the 15/16" hole with a 3/4" push on valve cover breather filter.

That is what I used for my 69 car, with a 3/4" Chrome push on breather. It looked just like the aftermarket ones used back in the day.

Maybe you could find the thread.

That's the ticket. It is a little tight getting the breather in the gasket, but no one is going to steal it, that's for sure.

    As a follow-up...
I was able to find a 1" O.D. X 3/4" I.D. grommet and a 3/4" chrome breather. I got online with Summit (thanks, Larry!) and was amazed at how well they run the company. Found what I was looking for, ordered it and had it in my mailbox in two days.

Thanks again for all the tips. This site rocks!
