Does anyone have a tested, working Delco Remy voltage regulator dated 1C they would be willing to sell? Good ol' Brett Slater made me realize my numbers don't match on that part so I guess I'll be obsessing until I find one. Ha!
Have you located one of these? If not, I do have one but untested. I'm unable to post pictures from my phone on the board but could email you one if interested.
I will, only here is the temperature reads 88 degrees my garage is probably 110,but I will check tonight when it cools down somewhat.Bruno.
OK ,Brian,this is what I came up with:# 1-IM. 1119-575 -#2-4L 515.-#3-8D ,515.-#4-2H ,515.#5-4D,507.Those are the only ones I have left,out of around 25.Don';t know if any of these will help you,if so,let me know.Bruno.
Thanks Bruno. Unfortunately, none of those would work for my application but your effort is very much appreciated.
Okay, so after a recent rash of electrical issues, including but not limited to: faulty "new" (translates to remanufactured) alternator; a brand new battery literally boiling over; replacing the original voltage regulator with a new Delco unit as a last ditch effort to try and get some consistent volts....even while the "new" alternator continued to whistle and whine, (suddenly my GEN light stayed on for the first time) I'm wondering how these are tested, who rebuilds them and how much? Another member sent me a link to an eBay auction earlier today and I reached out to the seller to ask for pricing. He told me only rebuilds the cores he has....like, what's the difference?
Brett did you check the connector going to the voltage regulator if it's loose the generator light will come on. To check the alternator to see if it's working put a screwdriver to the back of the center of the alternator if it is working it will be magnetized The screwdriver will stick to it.
Which connector? Do you mean the 4 pronged plug from the wiring harness? That was snapped in tight. Possible I got a faulty voltage regulator? I'm not surprised any more at the prevalence of junk parts that are supposed to be brand new.
Yes, Sum times when the car sits the Contacts corrode and the alternator won't charge the light comes on you just have to wiggle the connector and you will hear a different tone in the motor because the alternator is not working.
Beans you boiled over a battery I'd say the voltage regulator went bad and it was overcharging and it sounds like there's an issue with the alternator you use to replace it hopefully it doesn't damage your new voltage regulator.
Brett after I did my past summer engine compartment overhaul I had gotten two bad voltage regulators . That was the cause of my gen light being on
