When switching from external to internal 3 wire system, does anybody make an empty voltage regulator that just had the cross over wires inside it rather than the mechanical actual regulator? Basically, I want to create this voltage regulator bypass INSIDE the voltage regulator. That way all the original wiring looks fine, the external regulator shell is there. Now I can buy a $20 regulator and gut it, but if they make a $24 one that is already done, well that sounds good to me.
Buy an old one at a swap meet. I've been aiming to do this if/when either my voltage regulator or alternator ever gives me trouble.
Purchased what u are talking about from Yearone many years ago. Paid about $10 back then. https://www.yearone.com/Product/1964-72-chevelle-monte-carlo-el-camino/l37787
